First of all - I have to apologise for a terrible delay 🙈 Myself and my wife booked top floor coctail bar for our wedding party in June 2023. We've been dealing mainly with the manager Alex, who couldn't be more friendly and accomodating. Organising the event was super easy from choosing the menu to arranging people from KC Events to decorate the room. We even dropped the wedding cake in the morning and they kept it in the fridge, arranged a presentation of it, and later on served it to our guests. We had frozen margarita from the slushy machine, which was an absolute hit on a warm, June evening (it was refilled at least 3 times!). Food was spectacular - chicken wings, cauliflower "wings" and so much more! There was plenty of it even though we followed Alex advice and booked it for about 70% of the final guests' number. We had our wedding playlist from Spotify, which bar staff put on and played throughout the night. There were 3 key moments to arrange with the staff - cake cutting+toast, buffet start/finish, and cake serving. All was smooth and well organised by Alex and his team. Throughout the night, we were keeping an eye on the budget and bar bill - Alex was there to help us manage it, making it super easy. Overall, we had about 70-80 people there, and there was PLENTY of room for people dancing and having a quiet catch up in one of the booths. It was a cracking party and we highly recommend this venue for a wedding party, birthday etc. It has a great atmosphere, and Innis'n'Gunn team is...
Read moreNice little bar with a cracking restaurant upstairs. It sits at the end of Ashton Lane which is a hub of activity and life in the West end. There are lots of bars and restaurants crammed into a tiny street with really cool lights draped across the roof line giving providing a canopy of lights like an array of little stars at night time.
In the Bar downstairs there isn't much room as they also have a micro-brewery on site however they make up for that with a decent selection of both draft and bottled beers.
The restaurant upstairs is a decent size with a kind of rustic feel to it, exposed brick work and the like. The food is excellent, decent amount of choice and everything i ate was brilliant and delicious. The have a decent selection of beers, wines etc and some cocktails should you feel the need for something a bit different. Some of the seats/tables face out onto Ashton Lane where you can watch the world go by.
Being in the West end getting there isn't too difficult. Like all of Ashton lane it is a 1 min walk from Hillhead Underground station. If you drive there is parking on Great George St however the car park is usually very busy so getting a space can be tricky. Best option is probably to use public transport or walk - its about 30-45 min from the...
Read moreGreat food and good service. The popcorn mussel stater is delicious and my husband really enjoyed the KFC starter as cauliflower is his favourite vegetable! Main courses equally yummy - I had the 'boozy 'duck and he had the pork. Finally shared a cheese-plate - doubt one person could eat it anyway! - tho sadly there was none of the advertised grapes with it and we had to send for some oatcakes, but I have to say the cheeses were excellent. A few wee 'niggles' for my poor husband - first they didn't have the cider he wanted to drink (i know - we were in a beer-kitchen but neither of us likes beer!) - then his order of thick-cut chips arrived as french-fries and finally the lapsang souchong tea he was very excited to see on the menu wasn't available either. In the end we weren't charged for the cheese plate or the chips and were profusely apologised to. However the glitches won't put us off and we'll...
