The food in this restaurant is very good, but what lets it down is its poor service and apparent lack of staff training. Our group of 18 had been asked to send in our orders for starters and main courses the day before, but despite our group leader's detailed list three of the main course orders did not reach the kitchen and so the three of us sat and waited and waited, while everyone else was enjoying their meal. A young lady called Emma came to our rescue and we were finally served after almost everyone else had finished their meal. The manager and the other waiters seemed to be completly oblivious of their duties. It was left to Emma to apologise - something the manager should have done. When it came to desserts, a young waiter took all our orders and wrote them down, however, again three of the orders did not reach the kitchen. How was this even possible, when he had written everything down on a pad? Again Emma sorted out the problem and the three desserts finally appeared again after everyone else had finished their meal. You would have thought that after the problems with the main courses, they would have taken extra care to avoid a repeat performance, but they didn't seem to care. Neither the waiter nor the manager apologised. This task was again left to Emma, who seemed to be the only capable member of staff in the restaurant. It is a shame - the food at Daisy Tasker is very nice, but I certainly would not go...
Read morestaff appeared disorganised and incompetent obviously struggling to cope , menu was restricted to a single choice on Sunday of an ironically named stress free Sunday roast. couldnt get staff attention for drinks or cuttlery throughout our meal had to go mid meal to get my own from bar area. we got brought food that was for another table. food is just dropped on the table and waiter walks off. took ages to get food despite restaurant not being even close to capacity, and the kitchen having only very limited dishes to prepare. food was okish enough i wouldnt have complained if the service was there. although main roast dish is served on a platter in plonked in the middle of table, all the veg, meat, yorkshire puddings, gray etc with no serving spoons or utensils so you have to just grub about trying to fork your share of dinner onto your plate with your cutlery. left after a couple of hours very disappointed and without the desert. i think its front of house team require more training and they need more staff to cope. right up there with the poorest dining experience ive had for...
Read moreRestaurant was nice, busy and staff were friendly. Food was meh. Ordered from the bistro Sunday menu. Food arrived really quickly. Starter was Arbroath Smokie with a salad. Nice, salad was fresh but fish a bit over cooked. Next up, steak and veg pie. Be warned, all you get is the pie, no sides. Steak was over cooked and the pie filling had a lot of peas and not much else.
For dessert I had a syrup pudding with ice cream, the latter was fine but the former was clearly out of a microwave.
The itison voucher was good value, 3 courses for two people with a bottle of wine, but the food let the place down.
Overall, a bit of a...
