Sat down to catch up with friend. Barely sat down for long and the waiter asked if I am ready to order, my menu was still closed. Literally sat down for few mins only, waiter seen my menu closed, why the rush? It's not because of the fast service as I'll elaborate on in a second. To my surprise there is no lamb shwarma. Yup, 0. Scoured the menu, nothing. Ordered kofta wrap which is made from lamb, there was no meal option unlike the other wraps in the same section, so ordered chips. Then after a very long wait we noted other customers getting their orders. Asked the waitress why others are getting their food and we aren't. Got a blank look, she walked away to the kitchen, came back and said nothing. Fantastic service? No. So I then asked the main waiter, where is our food? Then after what felt like 40 mins, he admitted there had been a mistake. I told him, mistakes happen it's fine, but not letting me know is not OK. My kebab wrap came and it looked miserable. It was not like the adana kebab I am used to from many shwarma restaurants. The kebab was dry and hidden in the wrap with 2 pieces of pickle and some garlic sauce . That's it, I know £5.50 isn't much, I'd rather pay £10 and get a decent portion. I paid approx £9.50 for that and the chips. So once we paid and left, the waiter came after us asking if we paid? And how we paid etc. Really bad impression. One of the owners or person in charge was there, still got a bad service. I'd consider going again because of the atmosphere, and I would order something else. Anywhere else, a wrap would be decent to fill you up. It should be taken off or modified. They did give us some extra salad, but I didn't feel this compensated for the bad experience.

A Cracking Night at Damasqino My partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Damasqino recently, and I must say—it was a belter of an evening. The place was buzzing, clearly a favourite among locals, and while the table next to us was a touch loud, the overall atmosphere remained welcoming and warm. We were graciously welcomed with a complimentary lentil soup—rich, hearty, and true to the Lebanese region’s generous spirit. A lovely cultural touch that set the tone beautifully. For mains, we followed the staff’s recommendation and shared the Damasqino Shawarma Plate with rice and side of bread and Chicken Kafta with chips and bread -great portions sizes. Both were superb—the shawarma was tender and flavourful, and the kafta was grilled just right, juicy and packed with spice. To top it off, the mint mocktail—another spot-on suggestion from the manager—was refreshing and perfectly balanced. Despite the bit of background noise, the service, food, and hospitality made for a memorable evening. We’ll be back soon, and next time we might just bring a few pals along.

Authentic Taste & Amazing Hospitality! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful dining experience at Damasqino Restaurant & Cafe in Glasgow! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and a beautiful atmosphere ✨. As a welcome, they served me a bowl of lentil soup 🥣—and it was absolutely delicious! Warm, comforting, and full of rich, homemade flavor. A lovely way to start the meal 🧡. For the main course, I tried the grilled chicken with rice 🍗🍚—the chicken was juicy and perfectly grilled, with a marinade that was both unique and mouthwatering 🔥. The rice was fluffy and well-seasoned, a great combination with the chicken. I also had the broasted chicken 🍖, which was crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside. One of the best I’ve had in the UK 👏. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable 💷, and the overall vibe was cozy and welcoming 🌿. If you’re looking for authentic Middle Eastern food with a personal touch, this is the place! Highly recommended! Emoji summary: 🥣🍗🍖✨🫶 = Pure Satisfaction!

We walked in one day and asked if we needed a reservation or if there were any free tables. The guy at the counter didn't use any words... He just pointed to an area with empty tables and looked at us like we were an inconvenience. We went over and sat down. A waitress came over and took our order. She was nice. The guy from the counter then came a while later with our food. He said nothing again - just sat the plates in front of us. I asked him a question but he said nothing - he just walked away and ignored us. He made us feel awkward. As we were leaving we went to pay the bill. We asked this guy if we could pay. Again, he didn't respond to us, he actually turned his back to us and shouted for another member of staff to come see us. During these awkward interactions I could only assume maybe he didn't understand English, so I tried to take this into consideration.

However.... Several days later a video popped up on social media. This guy was doing the video to promote the place. Turns out he either owns or runs the place. He was speaking English the whole way this video absolutely fine. Seeing this made me really annoyed. We definitely won't be back. What an ignorant guy. He made the whole encounter feel pure awkward. Why would you behave like that?!

This happened to us a couple of months ago and I didn't leave a review at the time. But I just seen someone on social media saying a similar thing of how they felt awkward here, so here is...

Cheaters! I ordered a falafel wrap last Friday, the 28th of June, and the cost of it was £4.50. Since it was such a small price, I didn't check the receipt and threw it away. When I went through my account to check something, I noticed they charged me £45, and I initially thought it was a typo mistake. I went there first, was told to return when the owners will be back and didn't even want to check anything. I gave them a chance and returned when they asked me to come, though I was working. There were a few of them this time, and I don't know who they were, but their attitude from the beginning was rude. Straight away, they rejected my claim and said they could not do anything about it; when I asked to check the camera, they said it didn't work, and when I asked to check their accounts, they said they didn't have any! I went there on Tuesday, so it was just a few days after the incident, so there was no chance they could have lost their accounts or none of their cameras weren't working. So either they deliberately scammed me or didn't have any accounts to check, as they might not be paying any tax! That's why they couldn't look at their accounts; if they could have checked their accounts, it would have proved they made a mistake! They basically told me in the end, "Do what you want to do; we don't give a damn." Never in my experience in Glasgow, I had such an experience. Worst place!...
