I attended the launch of the new georgic and it was absolutely mobbed , i have been in a few more times and as someone who is immunosuppressed due to having cancer then im very careful with where i go and where i drink however i can safely say the georgic was very clean and any spillages cleaned up asap for the good of the customers which i think comes from the manager who looks like she has high standards which is always a good thing. People like new and innovative things and this is the place to be in shawlands now with lots of new staff taking it in their stride to create a welcoming and friendly place to come and enjoy even a pint on their own. The new manager works hard from what i saw and has a great attitude to work and is installing her mark on the place which just means a new and dynamic route to be taken. I think the new georgic will be going places as everytime i drive past it , it is mobbed. I wish yous the best in the future well done. P.s the pizzas...
Read moreWhat can I say. This was, and used to be an iconic, classic old man's pub. It has been my favorite local pub for years and always had fantastic staff, great atmosphere and great punters. Its recently been taken over by franchise and the new owner/manager, blonde woman could not have brought the place down and flushed it down the toilet more. In the few weeks it's been open, the glasses have been FILTHY DIRTY, staff have left, there is no longer a juke box and she has taken the classic half&half deal away which was brilliant and has been around FOREVER. I've watched her treat her staff badly, be rude to punters and just over all be a miserable, unfriendly and cold person. To say I'm sad about the new Georgic is an understatement. If it ain't broke don't fix it. This place won't last and hopefully gets taken over by someone new soon, as I...
Read moreI've been in a couple times since the Georgic has changed hands and reopened - the most recent being Saturday night - the newly revamped Georgic has a great vibe! The fresh decor is stylish yet cosy, making it a welcoming spot whether you’re popping in for a quick drink or settling in for the evening. The newly fitted ladies toilets are a great touch, making it feel so much more than just an old man's pub now. The atmosphere is lively but relaxed, with a nice mix of people that makes it feel inclusive and friendly. Staff are welcomg and attentive, which really adds to the experience. The pizza's are tasty - definitely try one if you're peckish! Looking forward to popping over on a Friday for the quiz. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to unwind and socialise - just what...
