Popped in today, 1st time, definitely not the last time. From the name and the outside you'd be forgiven to think it doubles as a sunbed place, I thought that, I was totally wrong. Inside its classy and very nicely done out. Very comfortable indeed. Dog friendly and beyond. The dog was brought water and a wee bowl of dog biscuits before we'd even been asked what we would like. Which is perfect because when you have a settled dog you can settle yourself better. Everything is quality, the atmosphere, the furnishings, even the gents toilets were immaculate. The food is quality, no cheap rubbish, no corners cut. Service is probably the best I've ever had. 3 different people looked after us and each were top notch, faultless, made us welcome and just so warm and friendly. Soup and a sandwich I went for, BLT then chicken and rice soup. Absolute beezer, cannot stress how tasty both were. The Mrs had coronation chicken sandwich with lentil soup. Both had a coffee, and all in just over £20 - O was gobsmacked. This is a legitimate review, unbiased and my honest truth. The place, food, and staff are faultless and I mean faultless. Thank you so much for your hospitality today, it was...
Read moreTrying to describe Indigo Eats is rather difficult. Is it a Cafe, or is it a Restaurant? The simple answer is yes to both.We wanted a small, comfy, friendly place to meet up with friends and enjoy good food and maybe a drink or two. It also had to have good food and personal hygiene standards (The Place, Staff & Other Customers) as some of us still have ongoing 'Lockdown' health issues. We found everything we wanted here at Indigo Eats. Yes, we travel 30 to 40 miles each way to get to Indigo, but it's well worth the journey time. The ability to meet up with friends here was very important to us. What we didn't expect, was the friendship developing between the staff and customers. Yes, the staff are friendly, but they still professional with it. No review would be complete without mentioning costs, especially at this time when manufacturers all over are hiking prices way up. I nearly forgot to say anything about costs, why you may ask? It's because Indigo are maintaining costs as best they can and any rises have been so minimal, we didn't really notice. All in all, Indigo Eats is perfect at what it does, it brings friends, family, and good food together. Who could...
Read moreUPDATE This was my go-to cafe for meals and treats. From today, no more. I went there for breakfast and sat down on one of the provided tables outdoors, but when I went to order, I was told that they were only serving coffee and cake outside. If I wanted to eat, I would have to eat inside. When I enquired as to why that was , I was told that they are short of staff. I explained that our dog which was with us could be a bit reactive to other dogs and was told it was OK, I could sit up the back.
OK, I'm prepared to make allowances for some things, but I don't understand this policy. Unusually for Indigo Eats, half the tables unoccupied, easing the pressure on staff. What's the difference between carrying a tray of drinks and cakes and a tray of food? If it was a case of time taken to come outside (which wasn't an issue for cake eaters), the distance from the servery to our table was significantly less that that to the table offered.
Very disappointed with Indigo eats. I have sung it's praises and use it often. After today, I won't return; there are plenty of other cafes...
