Koko House — Restaurant in Scotland

me and my friend went in today. ordered 2 portions of soufflé pancakes, brown sugar bubble tea and mango bubble tea. The brown sugar bubble tea was not nice at all- there’s no taste of brown sugar in it and on top of that it was room temperature. It didn’t even match the picture of the one on the menu where there’s brown sugar syrup round the sides of the glass. Got my friend to try a few sips in case it was just me and she said it was gross. i’m never one to complain about food or drink because it makes me feel a bit anxious but it was so bad we agreed to tell the waitress. Nothing was done about it at all - no apology, no offer to make a new drink or to take it off the bill. When we went up to pay she had just wrote a number on a piece of paper and said cash only. As we were leaving everyone said thank you to us which was polite but doesn’t take away from a bad experience when no one attempted to fix the situation, looking back i wish i pulled them up for not doing anything before we left but i didn’t want to cause a commotion and my friend said she had seen the waitress tell the other staff members and they all stared at us so they clearly chose not to do anything about it. I visited Koko House, where we ordered two coffees and pancakes. The pancakes were okay in taste, nothing special or remarkable. However, we were surprised to find out that they did not accept card payments and only accepted cash. This was not made clear to us initially; we only noticed it later on a small sign displayed in the café. When we asked the staff, they confirmed that they only accepted cash. As visitors from another country, we didn’t have any cash on us. The staff told us to go to a bank or ATM to withdraw money. Unfortunately, this resulted in additional charges as our bank applied a significant fee for the transaction, effectively doubling the cost of our visit. After all of this, when I asked for a receipt, I was informed that they didn’t have a cash register and couldn’t provide any receipt at all. This experience at Koko House was completely unacceptable. It is not only unprofessional but also illegal to operate without issuing receipts and to fail to clearly inform customers about payment...

Popular place recommended by friends. Went on a sunny day and got a table outside. They have a good few tables for outside seating aswell as inside seating. Very prompt service.We had the Japanese Souffle pancakes. 1 biscoff and 1 black forest. Both were delicious. Pancakes are so light and airy but are actually filling. Drinks were nice too. They only have a small menu so it's easy to choose quickly. However we felt there was the lack of menu options. They have 1 toilet inside which was the cleanest toilet ever. Maybe because they have placed a bottle of antibacterial spray which can be used to clean the toilet seat before use. They also sell a selection of Japanese snacks such as mochi.
