So I went today to order take way order. The guy who took my order is rude. He had no respect towards me. The way he treated me is very rude and worst. I said I just came to order since he knew I’m from india by his own judgment he doesn’t respected me. He doesn’t said please come this side instead come this side in ordering tone. As though I’m going to not pay for my food. Not even smiled, good hospitality needs smile and warmth welcome. Coming to food, ordered biriyani got pulao with some gravy. You customised it based on this location is acceptable but ruining the taste of biriyani completely and calling it biriyani is sin. You simply put peas and some masala and not even long grain basmati sauted and added chicken then naming it as chicken biriyani. The sauce is just tomato paste as usual all Indian restaurants provide here. Who give sauce to biriyani ? Don’t name it biriyani and sell or have customised menu for Indians afterall please show respect towards cuisine.

Amazing plentiful presentation of food in a beautiful restaurant on a beautiful street. Excellent service as well. Highly recommend the juicy Dosas and the haggis pakoras as starters. The mains are waaaaaay bigger than I’m used to getting - I would say one serves two. So get two and take home leftovers! The Lamb sharab masti was especially delicious. The naans are also waaaaaay bigger than I’m used to and also way more flavorful and expertly baked. The garlic naan certainly doesn’t skimp on the garlic and the sweeter peshwari naan quickly became the highlight of the table. The table behind us ordered what I believe is the giant naan and if you’re going to try to impress somebody … order that. Excellent and unusual presentation! Many thanks to our server, Diksh, who was beyond hospitable and informative.

A beautiful Indian restaurant in the west, tucked away down Ashton Lane! We started the night with crispy, light popadoms and a perfect spiced onion to accompany, then a mixed pakora platter (first time tasting haggis pakora and it was a favourite), as well as a chicken masala poori (YUM - the masala was a perfect mix of sweet and spicy). For our mains, we selected the crowd-pleasing Chasni (perfectly creamy, tangy and sweet) and we tried the spicy lamb jaipuri, which turned out to be our favourite of the two, with a flavour that packed a punch! Great atmosphere, warm decor and top-notch service from the wait staff. We will be back!

Just back from the refurbished Ashton Lane Ashoka. Looking more modern with the mezzanine level giving somewhere more intimate to sit. But they've retained the iconic mural which has been there ever since I can remember. But the big thing for me is the food has also been stepped up. Nowadays I'd say in Glasgow you'd be hard pressed to find a restaurant that serves a bad selection of curries. I know they exist. But they cater for people who like a different sort of curry. Most in my opinion though aren't reaching to improve. Whatever has gone on behind the scenes and in the kitchen while the refurb was being done is noticeable. There's several innovative dishes. But even simple things like the lamb chop and chicken wing starters are as good as I've tasted. I was in a large group so had the chance to sample 6 main courses and they were all really good. They included the lamb saag, chicken saag, chicken tikka masala, Bengali prawn curry. For me the sauce/flavour of the prawn dish was something new and I really enjoyed. The only thing I would say is don't let the prawns sit on the hot plate as we did because we were sharing everything. They will go rubbery as prawns do. I'm sure everyone has been here before over the years. But I'd suggest trying what to me is the new and improved Ashoka Ashton Lane. Sorry there's no photos. Too busy enjoying ourselves . Oh and staff deserve praise too. Really looked after us well....

1 .. Walked in manager with the pony tail and the washed out shirt ear buds in & chewing gum (daddy's boy) thinks he's dawn curly wurly when it's plain to be scene him or the place is nothing!

2..decor needs an upgrade! ASAP

3..banged my head off the lamp shades hanging from the celling upstairs, to see a whole load of dust appeare tells me last time they were cleaned or even chamge a bulb for customer experience?

4 Atmosphere is basic and old school plus background atmosphere is nothing it's just ur basic (EAT IT, N BEAT IT) want your money.

5.. food quality - well chicken pacora av had better on the way home at 4am from ur basic 7 day daily kebab hang n fry shop!

6 pacora I was stuck to the pan ars on fire only time in my life I have experienced white pacora soggy with no crisp or batter and the chicken tasting like its just off the shelve in asda.

7.. would not recommend what so ever, place is a shambles, quality is shocking, and cleanliness was back in the 80s

If I was comparing I would personally rather go for a drive thru big mac meal at mcdonalds at least the Ashton Lane expections wouldn't be dissapointed it's well saying there is no competition.

Please take note of the above as I don't want others feeling the way I did.

Thanks for reading...

Been here on numerous occasions and absolutely no complaints. We normally go at 4.30pm and get the small plate menu which is available daily from 12-5pm. However on this occasion we were given the a la carte menu, when we asked for the small plate menu, we were told it had to ordered at 4pm, I politely advised the staff member that they should alter their website to say that as when we made the booking we were advised that we could get the small plate menu. We went ahead and ordered from the main menu. Pakora arrived 5 pieces (£5.50), main course was nice. On finishing our meal a waiter promptly arrived and cleared our table,we were not offered a sweet menu or coffee/tea, As we were settling our bill, we noticed 2 waiters standing quite close on either side of our table and one waiter standing at the exit door,as we left the table one of the waiters proceeded to lift the payment then nodded to the waiter at the exit door who then moved away from the door and didn't even acknowledge us. This was not a pleasant experience for my colleague and I hence the...
