Visited this buffet restaurant for my Mother’s birthday before going to a concert in the arena. Booking is not essential but advisable to guarantee a table so you can plan your visit should you have plans afterwards to make sure you are on time. We booked on the morning of our visit which was around 5.30pm on a Saturday night and noticed at the reception area that there were at least 2 or 3 parties waiting to be seated however the fully licensed bar kept them entertained in the meantime. We were shown to our table immediately. The price of an adult all you can eat meal is very reasonable at only £23. The restaurant was packed and somewhat chaotic. This meant that to have a conversation with people on your table you had to shout. Our table was a fair way away from the food area and required climbing some stairs, which wasn’t ideal for my Mum as she has mobility issues. We had to go to charge our plates in shifts and felt like we weren’t all eating as a group which kind of defeats the object. Maybe this had something to do with the time that we visited. People were pushing each other out of the way to get to the food due to having nowhere to form a line to wait . Carrying a plate of food back to the table when shoulder to shoulder with other customers was rather uncomfortable. The food however was really lovely and very varied from all cuisines. Large Sushi bar, Indian, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, traditional English, continental, BBQ, pizza and burgers etc. The types of dishes were endless. Can not knock the food whatsoever. Unlike many other buffets, all drinks (not including alcoholic or cocktails) were limitless refills after purchasing your first one. A medium glass of Pinot Grigio was £7.50. Now the bad points….waiting staff were always “hovering” around the tables ready to take your empty glasses and plates which you would think was good service. However, there were quite a few times when they took our plates away while we were still eating from them. Staff did not ask if we were finished, in fact they didn’t say anything at all which I found shocking. Also, witnessed a few occasions where more senior/non waiting staff were very rude to customers including an occasion where I witnessed a lady being physically pushed out of the way by an older staff member so he could get down the stairs before her and said something to her in Chinese in a nasty tone. To say my mouth dropped is an understatement. The lady was stopped in her tracks and was visually upset by this. Another down point was when we went to pay our bill and was asked if we would like to leave a tip. This is something we would usually do however they demand 15% of your final table bill and no less. In our case this would add a further £29 on our bill which is actually more than the price of one adult diner. Needless to say, the rudeness of staff, overcrowding, hovering waiting staff etc meant that we left not tipping. If I was solely basing my review on the food, it would get a five star rating. I will definitely not be returning nor do I recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a casual family meal. There are better choices nearby. Visit at your own risk! Thanks for getting to the end of my very long review but I needed to list everything...
Read moreFormal Complaint About Manager’s Disrespectful and Humiliating Behaviour on 24 July
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding the unprofessional, disrespectful, and humiliating behaviour of a male staff member — who identified himself as the manager — during my visit to your restaurant on 24 July.
⸻
🔎 Incident Description:
I visited your restaurant with my family (a party of five). As the restaurant was busy, your front-of-house staff asked if we were okay being seated at two separate four-person tables. We understood the situation and politely agreed.
Shortly after, a man who introduced himself as the manager approached us and asked my mother (in English) how many people were in our party. My mother replied “five.” Upon hearing this, he immediately showed visible displeasure and surprise, and stated that he didn’t understand her English. His tone was cold and dismissive, which already made us uncomfortable.
What happened next was far worse and deeply offensive.
As he walked past our table again, he covered his mouth and laughed while looking at my mother. This was not a casual smile — it was a clearly mocking, disrespectful expression, intended to ridicule. Although he tried to hide it by covering his mouth, it was very obvious to us that he was laughing at my mother, seemingly because of her English. This moment was deeply humiliating for our entire family, and made us feel publicly mocked and disrespected.
I immediately confronted him in English and expressed how upset I was with his attitude. He refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing, claimed he did not understand me, and completely avoided responsibility.
When I requested to file a complaint, another staff member told me: “He is the manager.” This left me feeling even more shocked and helpless. If a manager behaves like this towards guests, what accountability can customers expect?
⸻
❗ Important Clarifications: • This complaint is directed solely at the manager in question; • Other staff members were polite and professional; • However, the manager’s behaviour was unacceptable: he mocked my mother, treated us with arrogance, and violated basic principles of customer respect; • My mother was trying her best to speak English — there is no excuse for humiliating someone because of language; • As paying guests, we expected dignity, not ridicule.
⸻
📌 I respectfully request: A formal investigation into this manager’s behaviour on 24 July; A direct apology from the manager to my family for his humiliating and inappropriate actions; That your restaurant review its staff training and professional conduct standards, especially regarding cultural sensitivity and respectful communication with non-native English speakers.
⸻
This experience has caused us great emotional distress. We will never return to this restaurant, and if this matter is not properly addressed, we will not hesitate to share our story publicly or escalate it to the appropriate channels.
I sincerely hope that, as the owner or person in charge, you take this matter seriously and uphold the basic principle that every customer deserves respect, no matter their background...
Read moreA truly delightful experience. I've been checking out different buffets and I really wanted to take the time to tell about my experience. We went here on a Thursday. I was happy that they took a same day reservation the day before Valentine's Day. We came here because this was the day that my bf and I had time to spend with each other, and he actually found this place online. As a vegetarian, I enjoyed that there were veg options and as I recall their tofu dish had all the sass in a wonderfully spicy sauce. I had some rice that was just perfectly fluffy and not dry. They had 3 soup options, extra bonus as even Cosmo only had 2. Their pancakes were perfect (not stuck together and not dry either). Everything was incredibly flavourful, and delicious. Everything was made to a very high standard and their staff were very friendly. We never felt rushed or hurried. They had so many options, I was blown away. You'd have to go back time after time just to get a taste of everything. I tried to taste all that I could and I remember looking around at the beautiful and high-end tasteful decor and feeling like this place is really underrated. We were literally eating very high-end food on real marble tables in such beautiful surroundings.... Felt like a princess. I noticed that the chef's were checking the food to make sure it was covered properly and wasn't getting dried out (like rice and similar things) because this can be challenge for even the finest buffets as the moisture level has to be just right. I had a selection of vegetarian sushi, and it was also impressive not to mention sooo delicious, and well presented. A nice bonus was that the sushi rice held together really well. The flavour was brilliant, in fact every and all flavours were dynamite. Even the salad in the salad bar was crisp and fresh. I can tell that the people that run this are doing it with passion and pride. There were many ways that they could have cut corners but it was evident that they value quality and strive to offer the best. They are a real powerhouse in the buffet business and I got a sense of them being just as picky with their food as I am when I go out to dine. I really didn't want to get out of my seat but unfortunately my bf became full very fast and I did have to admit that there's only room in my own tummy for so much deliciousness. This place is true gold....
