So disappointed, we have been going here for years but not since before Covid. we were 20 mins late due to being unable to get a taxi and the staff were really nice and accommodating. On arrival we received the menus which did not include the wine list which we had to ask for as they seemed rushed for just over a half filled restaurant. The starter was amazing as always however my main was the total opposite, i do like my pasta Al dente as it should be but it was saddly undercooked which was replaced very quickly? It came back exactly the same. What was to follow from the manager was something that can only be explained as embarrassing for my wife and i who were mortified at him actually arguing with me in a patronising manor that had the whole place looking at us. I was then offered a third meal but by that time my appetite along with my wifes had gone, my wifes meal was over salted and nowhere near the usual standard also that we never mentioned due to what was happening with my meal. When he came back he had obviously tasted the pasta in the kitchen which was returned for the second time or the fact that he lossed his temperament for whatever reason outwith. We were told in a very quick manor by the Manager there was no need to pay the bill! Maybe it was just his pride, but without a proper apology it was very disrespectful to say the least. We are so disappointed as we will most likely never return there again due to the way we were made to feel on such an...

3 stars for atmosphere because of the company I brought with me. A Ruined 50th birthday dinner. Five ladies ranging in age from 40 to 60 year old. We were out to celebrate a special birthday with no fuss that turned into a comedy of bad food and terrible service. We ordered our food. One dish was pasta no meat. Food arrived we tucked in. My veggie friend had meat in her dish. The waiter had mixed up the order and took it away. A few minutes later the SAME plate arrived back and was put it front of my other friend who had originally ordered it. We had it taken away. The waitress was lovely came over and apologised for the mix up which we accepted but the waiter hanging about was annoyed.None of the dishes came up to scratch. My lasagne was burnt and was so dry I had to scrape it off the plate. I wish we had left then but we didn't. The waiter was muttering and shaking his head as if we were a problem and was just very rude and abrupt. We only had two drink orders and we had to ask for them which was another inconvenience to him. After our coffee and sweet the rude waiter came over and told us to go as they were closing while another table of people sat no problem. It will be the last time we will visit...

Booked dinner at the Piccolo Mondo on a recommendation from a friend. The restaurant was busy enough, which in most circumstances is a good sign ! We received a warm welcome on arrival and shown to our table. The staff were pleasant enough although the drinks waiter could do with a personality implant, as a bit of interaction would have made all the difference! We placed our food order, which was palatable enough, although the portion sizes did not represent good value for money ! I don’t consider myself to have a big appetite, however I could have put all my main course between two slice of bread and made a small sandwich. I was so glad we had ordered starters and a side portion of garlic bread even with a price tag of £4.50 but the £2.95 charged for one CAN of Coke has lodged in my throat!

Moral to this review is: Calculate the prices levied for any extras including soft drinks and add this to the prices shown for lunch / dinner to avoid a sharp...

Authentic Italian in downtown Glasgow. They took our party quickly on a busy night without a reservation. The service was attentive through a group effort. The food was delicious and truly authentic. The minestrone soup was perfect. Fresh vegetables, served hot, with just the right amount of salt. The slices of haggis and black pudding was surprisingly tasty for my first time. Don’t ask what it is made of, just try it and you will find an unusual, but pleasant flavor and texture. The medallion of veal fillet alla Milanese was a tender, hearty portion of veal pounded thin, coated in light breading, and served hot. Delicious from the first bite to the last. The table next to me ordered the lyonnaise potatoes and they looked so good I had to order them as well. They were superb and tasted as good as they looked. Welcoming, charming place with more than reasonable pricing especially on the alcohol. Must visit if you like Italian.

My wife and I had a reservation at the restaurant. However since she was getting a migraine and wanted to leave we decided to ask for the food to be given to us in the form of a takeaway rather than being served. I ordered a lasagne and please see the attached picture of what I got. The takeaway box which was tiny in any case was filled only half high with a tiny amount of cheese on the top. It really looked like some left overs or comparable to lasagne from Morrisons. Which in this case would really be a close competition and possibly Morrisons will be the winner. I sent a few emails but they never bothered responding. It's quite a shame as we have eaten in Piccolo Mondo numerous times before and have never experienced this. The service was really good as usual though.

The restaurant is conveniently located not far from Glasgow Central station and has won numerous awards. On entry, I was greeted by friendly Italian staff who seated me promptly. The set menu is good value overall. I found though that often when I had not finished my meal the staff would come over and offer to clear the table so I felt like they were rushing in terms of time. Food quality was excellent and had an authentic taste to the dishes. Soft drinks on the pricey side though. Overall, I would visit again and recommend.
