What distinguishes Riviera from its competitors is undoubtedly the exceptional service, an element too often neglected in the dining industry. At many establishments, one encounters neglectful staff who leave dishes on the table for extended periods, or are engrossed in their mobile phones rather than attending to guests. At Riviera, such issues are conspicuously absent. One might even suspect that the staff hold equity in the business, such is the level of their dedication. Noreen, in particular, is an invaluable assetβ€”well-versed in the menu, highly attentive, and an expert at crafting superb coffees, a skill easier said than done.

The culinary offerings at Riviera are consistently reliable, and the pricing is fair. A slight drawback is the lack of price transparency on the cake cabinet, which could lead to a surprise when the bill arrives. However, this minor inconvenience lends authenticity to this review; perfection is, after all, elusive.

The facilities are clean and more than adequate, including the provision for dog-friendly dining, an added bonus. During my visits, dog owners have maintained excellent control over their pets.

While Whetherspoons next door serves its purpose, Riviera presents a more refined experience, featuring table service and a more discerning clientele. The owners exude a passion for their enterprise, constantly striving to elevate the guest experience.

One area for improvement would be the chef's appearance. Despite not being customer-facing, his periodic walks through the restaurant in disheveled whites detract from the otherwise impeccable impression. This issue is not unique to Riviera; I've observed similar laxities in grooming at other establishments, such as Tinto Tapas. Were I the owner, I would enforce stricter appearance standards for staff who make public appearances, however brief.

In conclusion, Riviera excels in service and provides a quality dining experience, albeit with minor imperfections. It's a destination for those who seek something beyond...

Looks lovely from the outside/ inside. Cant fault the rest of my families meal as they all said it was lovely. Fair warning to allergy sufferers, that no allergens are listed on the menu - I appreciate after the fact when they said it should have been mentioned to servers, which I usually do. However, I’ve had anaphylaxis all my life and am extremely careful, so thankfully I recognised the symptoms immediately after one bite and called the server to confirm what was in the sandwich. I’d specifically avoided any mentions of pesto etc and gone for the safe option of soup and a sandwich, this shouldn’t have even been an issue. This should be considered moving forwards to ask in advance/ provide allergens on menus to avoid disasters like today.

*severe nut allergy and was served a ham sandwich which had pistachios throughout, no note of...

A very varied menu to suit all palates & where possible dishes can be modified to suit. Our friendly & helpful waiter , Kris for example informed me that my dish had jalapeΓ±os so I asked for them not to be added which was not a problem. My MIL had an omelette with bacon which she said was perfectly cooked. Portions are very generous & I was pleasantly surprised by the bill. Nice surroundings & just a perfect lunch from start to finish . Thanks so much , we have already arranged our next visit.I wish you continued success in your business. Another plus is that its right beside the car park so even for people with mobility issues like myself there's not...

Absolutely unreal scran at Riviera Coffee this afternoon. Gyros and Souvlaki plates were immense (see photographed) and so reasonably priced for the size. Coffees were also excellent, and would merit the 5 stars alone. Great buzz about the place for a midday on a Tuesday, staff friendly and attentive, and tunes impeccable. Would recommend to anyone visiting Largs, or looking for a bit of food or coffee whilst waiting for the ferry. Cheers guys!

A very busy excellent coffee shop and restaurant right on the main beach drag in Largs.Today we had chai and lemon drizzle cake before heading to our Musicfest gig.Pushed for time staff were friendly and gave us brilliant quick service. There is a very wide menu ,burgers, sandwiches, soup etc.but there are also some great Mexican and Greek dishes available. Cakes and scones are delicious. Thoroughly recommended.

The Riviera has a nice range of choices on its menu, including Greek and Mexican options. The food is tasty, and the portions are reasonable too. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and they provide bowls of water for dogs. The only downside is that service is quite slow, but if you're not in a rush, then it's ideal to just sit back and enjoy.
