The Eatrium at Gillies — Restaurant in Scotland

My daughter and I went to have lunch here yesterday. We had my 9 week old grandson with us. We were met by the woman that seats customers and told us we could sit at a small table for 2, situated almost out of the cafe. I asked if we could sit in the larger, more comfortable seat as the little one was needing fed. She said we could sit at the small table and move to the larger table if he need fed! Absolutely ridiculous that we couldn't sit at a table of our choice, particularly when we explained the situation to her. Myself and my family have eaten at this cafe several times and normally didn't mind this woman ordering us where to sit but never again. We felt we were banished to the corner because we had a baby with us. I told her to forget it and we would go elsewhere at which point she grabbed my arm and said don't go! Definitley not a welcoming environment, especially if you have a child with you. In all the cafes I have visited in Perth I have always chosen the table I sit at. But she would not allow us to sit at a comfortable table to feed a baby. We will never return and I will not recommend this...

My wife and I visited Gillies today for lunch. Great food and even better service, spotlessly clean lovely surroundings.Angie the supervisor (she told me her name when I asked, and told me she was supervisor now I know why this place is sowell run) A very smart well turned out young lady, well switched on no wonder this place is Excellent. In this day and age we are all to quick to complain this place fantastic very well run very very clean a testemont to good supervision. If you get a GOOD service we should let the staff know, as we did. Angie would be a asset to any business. Well done Angie & Gillies keep up the good work Guess where we will be going in...

Disappointed. The place is clean and bright, and the setting was wonderful but the cakes were dry and the scone was stale. We were made aware, only after we ordered, that we would need to leave by 16.50 as the furniture shop closed dead on 17.00hrs. As my husband has Parkinson’s he is very slow and mobility is difficult, so he had to leave without finishing his tea. I am afraid I am unable to recommend and unfortunately will not return despite the staff being friendly and apologetic for the pressure she was under to close...
