My partner and I were in on a visit to Dundee for the weekend. We found service to be excellent everywhere. Except sadly, Tickety Boo's.
When we arrived we had our first drink order taken. In accordance with Covid regs they were running table service only. When it came round to our second getting a drink suddenly became like pulling teeth. We had instances where tables around us were offered their next round and we were completely ignored.
After eventually catching an eye and getting a drink (after waiting around 20 mins) we had another wait before finally getting an order in for a third. This order was taken and then seemingly summarily ignored. And the cycle of other tables ordering after us but being served before continued. We left soon after.
Feel a bit sad to be writing this kind of review about what was as I said before, a perfectly nice little pub. But for me there can be little excuse for the kind of service we saw...
Read moreTerrible pub, now a pathetic shadow of the place I have frequented on and off for the best part of my adult life. Can't really believe the 5* reviews on here, must be tourists or people with connections to staff/management. By far and away the least welcoming and friendly pub in the centre of Dundee. Many decent, welcoming, more efficiently run pubs within a few minutes walk of this place, do your research and you will have a warmer, happier experience. Avoid.
Edit to answer response. You are either mixing me up with someone else or indulging in dishonesty to discredit my review.....I certainly insulted no one in your establishment and would not condone anyone who did. Perhaps you have many more disatisfied ex-customers than you would like to think? I am warmly welcomed in the 2 or 3 other city centre pubs I frequent, so your patronising advice on how to behave is not required. As you say,...
Read moreMy partner and I were having a great day out in the sun in Dundee. We saw the tables outside Tickety Boo's and decided to stop for a drink. The establishment itself is very well presented and the customers were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. On entering the bar, we were met by Charlie, who we assumed was the bar manager. We very quickly realised that Charlie, was a self-assured, arrogant , unwelcoming , insulting, member of staff. This opinion was not only seconded, but thirded by a great customer who came and found my partner and I, and commended the opinion that we put across to Charlie about his attitude and hostility to customers. Charlie is a blemish to an anotherwise outstanding establishment. We would happiliy recommend Tickety Boo's to anyone and return ourselves, however, there is a thorn in it's side that needs...
