AVOID...... Our party visited your establishment on Wednesday, the 13th, arriving shortly after 9:00 PM, with the understanding of the 10:00 PM closing time. The group consisted of two adults and four children, specifically three 12-year-olds and one 13-year-old. While we acknowledged the late hour, the food quality was unsatisfactory, with limited options and dishes that were dry and overcooked under the heat lights for hours. It was our understanding that the chicken was commemorating its first year it had been their that long. The adults managed a maximum of two plates, while the children each had one plate and an ice cream. Upon attempting to settle the bill at 9:35 PM, we were initially charged for six adults. They said they would knock 10% off for ages. To this we disagreed. We contested this, citing the children's ages, and the subsequent adjustment, following a phone call, reflected the correct child pricing but no appolagey. However, the overall experience, encompassing food quality, service, and customer interaction, was disappointing and did not justify the full price. We will not be returning to your establishment. This serves as a cautionary note for those with children of similar ages. Over priced late at night for scraps.
Also states on a small buisness card that Children must be under 140cm to qualify for discount.

Read moreSuch a rare gem in Southport! With an expensive coffee and sandwhich shop every other door in this town this a true gem to be found. As a family of two adults and two children we fully enjoyed our meals yesterday. We have been visiting Gourmet house now for many many years and I should have written a review years ago! Paid by card, I know others have said not an option which is odd. The food was delicious as always, the music is delightful, my ASD son really likes the decor and looks forward to his visits, even though he only eats prawn crackers, he still loves to go due to the decor and relaxing music. My daughter loves the fresh fruit, I think we are the only family with children who ignore the choc fountain and sweets, haha, it looks delicious but it's not for us so we truly appreciate the range of choice to suit everyone. The service is always spectacular, truly above and beyond, I do love it the place. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and definitely the quantity we ate! I added a good variety of vegetarian dishes to my plate, the broccoli was delicious a proper crunch, just how I love it. The black pepper mushrooms were divine, just the right spice, plenty of flavour. My daughter tells me the ribs were delicious and everyone fully enjoyed the duck and pancakes, delicacies that would normally cost a...
Read moreBest prices ever for great quality and variety of a Chinese food buffet not been here since before lockdown overdue for a visit as its a good chinese buffet, cash only is not a tax dodge as mentioned in a review on here, alot of small businesses in Southport cant get a card scan single, Westminster tea rooms Lord Street has that problem and a few other smaller businesses...even the big stores have single breakdown occassionally. Another review was knocking the car parks that are near having to pay. This restuarant has no carpark as most businesses in Southport dont but the Nearest Public car parks are in Tulketh Street via Bridge Street access or roadside parking metres unless you use the Park and Ride service which is free. Better still there are numerous bus services to Eastbank Street and Lord Street in Southport the 44 and 46 even the Ormskirk, Wigan and Liverpool buses stop near this restuarant...which is...
