Went to Southport on the train and called in this pub for a drink. There was myself and my Husband, my Sister and her boyfriend, my Niece and a family friend and our little pomchi dog. Our ages range from between 62 down to 15. As we had our little dog with us we knew we wouldn't be able to go in a pub serving food so we chose one that didn't serve food and also had a beer garden. We went through the pub and into the beer garden and sat down for a rest and much needed refreshments. We just sat chatting about our day and saying how tired we all were and the dog was just asleep on the floor, still on his lead. A big meat head appeared in the door way and shouted "I'm going to have to ask you to leave, no kids and no dogs allowed!" We thought he was joking and we smiled at him as we had been there for nearly 2 hours and nobody had said anything to us and they had been in and out collecting glasses, we thought he was just a customer playing about. He then went off like a rocket, shouting and waving his arms about like a mad man shouting "This is MY pub and you've got to get out NOW!" We all looked at each other and realised he was ACTUALLY serious and also realised that he must have been the landlord so we all looked at each other rather worriedly and said we would finish our drinks and leave. By this time both the girls aged 15 and 16 were breaking their hearts crying and the poor dog was cowering and must have wondered what the hell was going on. We started to empty our glasses and he was just screaming "You're not finishing your drinks, you'll leave NOW!" Then another member of staff came out and started shouting and being abusive and taking all our drinks off us!!!! We tried to tell him that his behaviour was over the top and that there was absolutely no need for it and if he had just come up to us and said "Excuse me, we don't allow kids and dogs in this pub" we would have apologised and left. He didn't want to know and was barging us out with his chest and shouting like a mad man about how it was HIS pub! Apparently he just become the landlord of this pub and is obviously full of his own importance and is trying to show everyone how 'hard' he is. I was absolutely disgusted and would not set foot in that place again if it was the only pub on this earth. It was absolutely shocking and completely over the top. If this is the way he will be conducting his business I doubt he will be the landlord for very long and I personally feel he could do with some lessons in...

We had spent the day walking round and decided to call in a pub for refreshments and because we had the dog with us we chose a pub that doesn't sell food. We went into the beer garden at the rear of the pub and sat in the sunshine chatting and talking about our day when a large surly tattooed lout came storming out and shouted "I'm going to have to ask you to leave" we thought he was joking as we had been there for 2 hours and had had a few rounds of drinks and we'd been very quiet, kept our little dog on his lead and were just minding our own business. Our ages range from my self at 62 to my Niece who is 15, we weren't part of a rowdy group of teenagers or a stag or hen do so we were extremely shocked. He carried on shouting and bawling telling us to "Get those kids out, no kids allowed and get that dog out, no dogs allowed!" We were all shocked and said that we would finish our drinks and leave and he was shouting "You'll leave now, this is MY pub and you need to get out!" Then one of the staff came out and started being very abusive and started to collect all our unfinished drinks! I have never been to any place like this in all my life and the attitude of the landlord was over the top, rude and abusive, at one point I actually thought he was going to grab hold of me and punch me. Both the girls were crying and the dog looked shell shocked and I was completely shaken. AVOID...
Read moreWent in this place and had to wait at the bar for a couple of minutes as there were no staff around. Eventually someone turned up and served someone who had literally just walked out of the toilets and completely ignored me. The other person didn't even tell them that I was already waiting to be served and let them pour their drink. I left. If the staff and their customers can't even show basic respect to someone who's just walked in, they aren't worthy of my...
