Very disappointing, took a lady in a wheelchair. Not disabled friendly ! We went as it looked very nice from the outside. We ordered cold drinks due to the warm weather and a sandwich, we was told we couldn't have a glass with our drink. Then when the sandwich came it came without a plate. When we asked for a glass we was told they didn't have any even though a lady was drinking out of a wine glass, we asked for maybe a paper cup as we was both grown adults and didn't want to drink out of a can or bottle we was told we wasn't allowed one, even though people around us was drinking out of paper cups The sandwich came without a plate on foil when we asked for a plate as we was eating at the premises we was told they didn't have any again, some people had paper plates so asked if we could have one of those to be told we wasn't allowed. The owner was very rude. Made to feel very uncomfortable! Poor service, atmosphere wasn't very nice either. Won't be going again. Wouldn't give any stars as the service...
Read moreWe visited Kings Garden tea room last weekend and paid for drinks for the family. We then moved the water bowl from under the advertising sandwich board so that our dog could have a drink and was met, which can only be described as a torrent of verbal abuse from the lady who had just served us our drinks. She shouted that the dog bowl was for communal use and not just our dog and when trying to explain we only moved the bowl to allow our dog to drink she continued to shout abuse. The whole situation was extremely unpleasant, especially as we had just spent in excess of £20 on overpriced drinks. No matter how much we tried to explain she just continued with the insults for no apparent reason, even insulting my husband. We have never experienced anything like this before and especially in front of our children. A very rude, unpleasant, I would say unstable woman' who should certainly not be in the hospitality industry. I would definitely avoid this cafe and the unbelievably rude woman who serves...
Read moreOnly been here twice in a few months and have to say it is the most unfriendly place we have been to !! I can't remember anywhere impacting on us as much in a negative way . It's still got covid ' keep your distance paraphernalia about and you can't eat in ?? There are so many signs and stickers on the windows an tables that you can hardly see in . It really feels like you are mider . It's got so much potential and I presume it does well out of one visit passing trade but we won't go again which seems a shame as many regular marine lake visitors am sure would support it . I think this is my first negative review aswell so it has really surprised me . I believe the other reviews which speak of rudness and an unhelpful attitude , this needs addressing by its owners as there are so many other places around that obviously provide food and drink . We were drawn to the place by its vintage appearance which is it's appeal, shame its not got the depth of service I would associate with...
