Morrisons Cafe — Restaurant in Sefton

Went for convenience and it being cheap, wish we didn't bother though. Food was awful, when I think Morrisons, the food is normally very decent. I had the pie with mash and gravy, mash and gravy were inedible and the pie wasn't much better. My wife had lasagna with garlic bread, lasagna was just a cheap microwave meal (and no cheese on it?!) and garlic bread was so overdone you could build a house with it. Kids meals were free though and they seemed to enjoy their choices. People say that it's grimey here but I didn't find it too bad, woman at the till was cheery but everyone else seemed depressed (can't blame them to be fair). Compared to other supermarket cafes this has been the worst of the lot, advice would be walk 5 mins down the road and go somewhere else or just get something from the...

Came here for a bite whilst shopping with low expectations, but my god I couldn't have expected it to be this bad! Hot drinks self serve area was filthy, there were no cups and no coffee other than black. No containers for milk. Tea bags in a bin in the counter with a napkin stuffed in the top. Things strewn all over the worktop. Disgusting.

Tried to find a table and whilst there were a few free, all of them were dirty.

Food wasn't much better. I ordered fish, chips & mushy peas. Oven chips as expected, but the fish was flavourless. The mush peas? Oh god, they were awful. A bowl with a solid mush, luke warm with a crust on the bottom in the shape of the tin. How do you even get a crust on mushy peas?

I feel violated. I wish I could give...

Visited August 2021. Visited late afternoon on a rather sunny summer day. Was expecting it to be packed with other tourists but was pleasantly surprised and easily found a table. The new national menu has removed my regular choices, so opted for the southern fried chicken with chips and salad & coleslaw. I was pleasantly surprised, the salad was plentiful as were the chips, so for the price it was good value. Everything seemed prepared to my order, as looked and tasted fresh plus it took a little while to arrive. The only thing that was a bit of a letdown was the coleslaw, as it was mainly the grated veg but with just a tiny bit of watery mayo.

Would certainly give this one another try if...
