VEGGIES and VEGANS BEWARE

I am not one to complain but I felt that I needed to share my experience.

I went to SOUTPORT Nandos and ordered a 'Sweet potato and butternut wrap'. A dish labelled as vegaterian. I was enjoying the meal until I started eating the second half of the wrap, biting into a piece of chicken skin nearly made me vomit (finding 3-4 pieces). Not a pleasant experience for any vegaterian.

I explained the situation to whom I assume is the assistant manager, she gave a half hearted apology and then offered to prepare another meal or dessert and that the kitchen staff would be made aware. I declined due to not wanting the same problem to occur. However I didn't feel that it was right that I had just ate meat and left with only an apology.

Further to this I was told that all the 'MEAT FREE' items on the menu are cooked on the back section of the same grill where chicken is cooked.

I requested a refund for the contaminated meal. The manager and assistant manager relucantatly refunded the meal after arguing that only part of the meal should be refunded because I had eaten some of the food. Both managerial members of staff had appauling attitudes to the way they treat their customers.

Dreadful! No table ordering service due to Covid-granted, app was easy to use- granted. But when we asked about ordering drinks the waiter said "oh I'll sort that for you" food turned up and still no signs of our drink order being taken, so we asked again, and he said "oh you have to do it through the app" WHAT!!!!! So food arrived, we weren't asked if we wanted any sauces. Tried the food...it was cold! Now normally I wouldn't send food back ( I have worked in Kitchens, I know what happens) but there was no way I could eat cold chicken and chips, so we told the waitress who didnt seem to know what to do, so she went and aaked for advise. They took the food away and apologised and brought more warm food a short time later. Then they asked if we wanted any sauces. Not sure of the reasons for poor service as it was not busy at all, in fact we were in quite early as we hadn't had breakfast so it was about 11:30 - 12ish. Oh AND... there was something smeared on the wall where we sat EW! So it obviously hadn't been cleaned very well from the day before. We will not be dining here again. In fact it has put me off...

Went with a date. The waiting staff showed us to a table. Tried to use the qr code but it didn't work so was bought a menu. Sat with the menu for 15 minutes and no one came to attend our table. It seemed the staff who served us our menus had gone home. Managed to get the qr working and ordered. After 40 minutes of waiting without even being brought our drinks I went to the greeter to politely ask whether we had time to go for a cigarette before our food comes. Apparently there was a glitch in the system and our order, which was recorded on the phone hadn't made it to the kitchen. We were brought our refillable drinks when the meal came. The manager gave us the drinks for free but we had no refills as by that time we wanted to eat and leave. We'd finished our food, my date had left some and the manager came and offered us free desserts. I'd ordered vegan food and my date had clearly eaten enough so felt it a hollow gesture. Went to the bathroom before leaving and it was like something out of trainspotting. Never going back. I'd advise anyone from dining there. I hear they regularly mess up...
