Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Sefton

I just cannot understand how Pizza Hut justify their outrageous prices, given they have tried to dehumanise the dining experience and boil it down to its bare essentials. You are shown to your table then told you must order via your smartphone using a QR code on the table. The website is confusing and it’s very difficult to place a simple order. I build websites for a living and even I was lost by their UI. I asked the staff to order for me. £28 for a 13 inch pepperoni pizza which is little better than an oven-baked one from the supermarket. The atmosphere in there is dismal, on the two occasions I’ve been in the last years, the place has been largely empty. What little I saw of the waiting staff, i did like. They were polite and professional and delivered my drinks extremely quickly. They obviously crave the customer interaction that their employers have tried to cut back. Why Pizza Hut don’t let their staff take your order in the traditional way, I don’t know. It’s leaves a lot to be desired! Eating here felt antisocial and strictly functional - like visiting a toilet at a motorway services. Wow!! I’d definitely eat here again but will have to travel 370 miles…but it would be worth it!! Really impressed with the service! Sam our server was super friendly and helpful, always smiling. He showed us to our seats and checked up on to see if we knew how to order using the QR code. It wasn’t busy, being a Wednesday evening…but have to say it was the best night of our break! Best pizza I’ve had in a long long time! And very reasonably priced. Large pizza, two side and two desserts for £30. Although the pizza base I thought could have done with a bit longer, the taste was fantabulous! The chips and dippers were yummy too…and I’m salivating still about the cookie dough dessert!! A nice enough visit! My partner and I were greeted on entry by a pleasant gentleman who showed us to our table. It’s been a long, long time since I have visited a Pizza Hut. I don’t like only having the option to order via scanning a qr code at the table! We both ordered the ‘individual deal’. The service was timely, and all the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. WE BOTH LIKED THE STAFF! In our opinion Salad bar needs a pasta option, the hot chocolate although nice was very small. My partner suggested that the bottomless drinks options were limited! The pizzas themselves were nice, and overall the deal does offer value for money. The sides we found unbalanced! Corn on the cob over portioned & fries under portioned!
