So I went during the 50% discount period during the opening week so please take that into consideration. My meal came to £8.50 for a doubled up Premium Beef Angus burger and a portion of Animal Fries.
The atmosphere of the shop seemed nice, the floor was a little scuffed and dirty but I do presume they've had a large amount of foot traffic over the last couple of days but the kitchen looked clean. The service from person at the till was pleasant and the music that was being played was a nice change to the McDonald's classical music vibe.
Firstly I had the Animal Fries, overall they were pleasant enough, the combination of the beef, cheese and sauce was nice although it did feel like the box must've been sitting on the side for a while whilst the burger was being prepared as the chips were a little soggy. The burger though was by far the worst out of the two items I ordered. When I opened it the bun was sopping wet and was falling apart. The tomato was complete mush and it came with a single leaf of lettuce, the signature sauce was okay but it's comparable to Big Mac sauce in my opinion. The quality of the beef though is up there in regards to taste and texture. The double up isn't necessary as the beef patties are large enough.
If you have the option to get 50% off I would recommend it to people if they were walking on that side of Sheffield, otherwise I can't justify spending the full £17 for a mid burger when there are cheaper establishments within walking distance. I think the price increase will put off a lot of a...
Read moreSo, me and a few others were looking for somewhere to eat during a day trip in Sheffield. We eventually decided on here because it looked rather nice.
The establishment was mostly clean and nice and quiet however, even when there were only a few people, we waited almost 40 minutes for our food.
Eventually our food arrived and every single item was wrong.
My friend has ordered just a burger without cheese, just the simple patty and bun but instead the burger was a spicy one. I had ordered the Angus burger but I instead just got a burger with a very small patty, that ended up having spicy sauce when I had asked for BBQ.
We also asked to not have the spicy fries but all fries we got were dusted with chilli powder and were oddly chewy.
And when we went to ask the staff about the wrong items, they just said it was what we ordered dismissively.
We were all incredibly dissatisfied with the meal as really, we may as well have just gone to Burger King. Atleast we wouldn’t have to wait 40 minutes for them.
However, I did quite like the drink I got which was basically an apple sprite and I enjoyed the cod fingers I got with my meal.
I hope that from now on, staff can try not to mess up orders as I ended up eating the food because of how hungry I was and my mouth hurt for the rest of the day.
Thank you for reading if you did. I...
Read moreDropped in for lunch on a quiet Friday. Ordered an Angus Burger as a meal. The food, for the price was really good, cost is comparable to Macdonald's but the burger is definitely superior. Not the best in the city, but the best at that price point. Chips were good, not soggy, nicely seasoned, everything was hot and came super quick, really can't complain.
Service- it's effectively a fast food joint but they brought my meal to me, came and checked everything was OK which was nice and cleared my tray for me as they did a sweep around clearing up. Everyone was friendly. Nice touch, felt like they cared about what they were doing.
The restaurant itself is a reasonable size with lots of booths but the space is weirdly soulless, a mix of millennial grey and laminate surfaces..... easy to keep clean I suppose and there's only one single shared toilet (I think, I didn't use it but it looked like the lock was on the door) sure owners will correct me if wrong. Feels harsh to take a star off for something that is just style preferences but the space gave me half finished coffeeshop vibes.
Bottom line is if you're planning to go to Macdonald's or Wendy's in the middle of town, try...
