Thanks to Chai Green for reporting my review , because you’ve done that I’m going to repost it. I also have photos of dirty cutlery & receipts to confirm I wasn’t making it up. Rather than reporting it take the constructive feedback onboard! I visited on Sunday and was expecting it to be busy given its a weekend. Had high expectations given the ratings on here but was left disappointed. Pros Was met by a friendly member staff upon entering seated straight away near the front Karak chai was very good Cons Sat on table to find dirty cutlery (see photo attached) had to ask for clean ones - off to a bad start Waited around 30 mins for food, to be then given my food prior to my husbands, his came around 5 mins later at which point my paratha had gone cold, understandably when you go out to eat, you’d want to eat at the same time Paratha isnt big enough and portions sizes aren’t right, excessive amount of beans and omelette isn’t authentic pakistani omelette and not much flavour. Beans are sold as “masala beans” not sure how tasted like regular beans with some cumin powder and fresh coriander leaving a sour taste. Claimed they used Nutella its the cheap version of it and you can tell that when you try the french toast We asked for oat milk with the English tea and was provided with almond milk, there is a difference between oat and almond milk had we wanted almond we would have asked for that. Service staff aren’t attentive to customers, constantly have to wait around and call them for things like sugar, which you’d expect to be provided with normal English tea, also provided no where to put used tea bag so we had to leave it on a tissue on table. Kept hearing someone shouting from kitchen about orders, found that really irritating. Definitely some improvements required and I wont be going back. Another over hyped food chain on London Road with too much of a focus on aesthetics than food & service. They ought to check on how customers are finding their food but they dont. Given its fairly new place you’d expect some them to ask for feedback hence leaving it on here.

So usually the service is better, unfortunately the service was dire today. The waitress asked for my order and I ordered the desi breakfast to which she replied is that it! RUDE! Secondly the other waitress was walking around with her long hair open and was continually touching this then touching the glasses and plates, unhygienic! She needs to be out through a health and hygiene course. I asked for a wet tissue to clean my hands after the food I was told we don’t have any. I phoned twice and I’ve tried to speak with a manager first time was told no one’s in, second time the waitress said “ what’s your name” RUDE then went and spoke with a man and came back and said no manager is here when on the previous call she said he would be here later therefore I was not put me through. So this brings me onto my issue, I ate the desi breakfast, the parathas are not fresh like desi cafe a few doors down. Upon finishing my meal I went to the till was told I had to pay £9.08 for a meal that is on the menu for £8.65. I asked why the extra charge and I was informed it was a “ gratuity” charge, I asked for it to be removed and was told that was not possible when legally I do not have to pay the charge. I asked to speak to the manager I was told there was no one there. I do not want to pay a gratuity fee when I thought the service was not great furthermore it’s my right not to pay this. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact the cafe twice and was not allowed to speak to the manager therefore am writing a review.

I recently visited Chai Green Sheffield, and it was truly an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a delightful meal. The star of the show was undoubtedly the Samosa Chaat – hands down the best I've ever had! The fusion of flavors, the crispiness of the samosas, and the burst of spices left my taste buds dancing with joy. It was a taste sensation that I won't soon forget. Desi Breakfast had an authentic flavorful touch showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. In the desserts we ordered a French toast which was a delightful way to end the meal on a sweet note. he culinary journey reached its pinnacle with a cup of Kashmiri Chai. Served piping hot, it was a refreshing blend of aromatic spices, offering a perfect balance to the richness of the meal. Special thanks to Mr. Sarfaraz, whose exceptional service added an extra layer of warmth to the experience. His attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and friendly demeanor made the dining experience truly memorable.

I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant . When we arrived, we asked to sit at the back, but the person serving us rudely told us it was reserved. Fine, we moved on and decided on the Desi breakfast. We requested to swap the kema with butter chicken, as we've done before, but the lady serving us, Maria, said it couldn’t be done. She seemed confused, so we politely asked her to check with someone else or ask a manager. She claimed to be one of the managers, but her attitude certainly didn’t reflect any management skills. Throughout the entire time, she was more focused on her phone than on us or anyone else . Thankfully, Vishali, another staff member, looked after us well and was attentive. It’s really disappointing to see managers behaving this way. My suggestion: train your staff to put away their phones and focus on customers. To add to the frustration, after we were told the back seats were reserved, it was strange to see more people arriving after us and being seated there. The back area, which was supposedly reserved for 9 people, ended up having just 2 people sitting there. It felt really disorganized and left us wondering if the whole “reserved” excuse was just a way to turn us away. Definitely not the kind of service I expected. Due to her attitude and service we will not be returning nor will we recommend this place. We was not acknowledged when leaving by her despite her being at the end of the counter just staring at us. Pure ignorance. Her vibe she didn’t want...
