Great food and failed environment I must say.
I have visited this place in numerous occasions and I enjoyed and loved the food that's served in there like nowhere else. Fresh savory meet with perfectly cooked rice and spice scented various dishes.
However, the staff are not well trained and experienced waitresses and waiters would make it easier for the customers to order a dish, as they know little English and little manners to attend customers.
The restaurant is a mess, tables are moved all over the lounge making it quite difficult to move around and with little privacy.
Oftely, a number of male customers come predominantly Muslim, and they stare at women with vicious comments about their dressing or behaviour.
I have felt quite embarrassed few times when I intended to breastfeed and the members of the staff placed a few panels to hide this "disturbing views" from their usual customers which I felt so embarrassing myself. However, taking into account that it is a halal restaurant I must say that I haven't complaint about this procedure and that I never received a direct critic.
While service is terrible, and I have most of the times felt so extremely exhausted of asking for something that I standed up and served myself, food is excellent indeed.
After feeling ignored by the untrained staff I have had to go to the kitchen and talk to the boss to let him know what food or drink I had already asked (or tried to ask to) to the waiters. Tables tend to be dirty and so it is the floor, high chairs and chairs. They do often forget the fork and knife and only provide a spoon (which I'd say it's not right for a lamb chunk with rice ) .
They are normally really busy and although alcohol isn't sold in there lots of people come from a shisha cafe placed next door smelling weed.
Desserts are not good as they're just supermarket cakes cut into pieces with little or non decoration.
Artificial GRASS is used instead of wallpaper in some of the walls, and fairy replaces soap for hand washing in the toilets.
To summarise I'd say that is not a place to go if you expect the food so be served nicely and politely but a place to have great, tasty food at a ridiculous price.
I go there with my children when we are in town as they love the chicken rice and with my husband to see how his eyes blow when he stares at the lamb dishes.
Although it's cold (the door it's broken and always open) and the environment is busy and messy, the food is so good that makes it worthy.
So it's not a place where is take my parents in law to be to give them an impression but where I'd go (or send my husband) to take away some nice delightful food to eat it at...
Read moreA simple small yet accommodating Arabic restaurant well known for mandi. The place was full but waiting period is hardly two minutes. I tried the lamb zarbian and yes it was indeed delicious and rice was well cooked. The lamb chops were tender and cooked well. The soup was outstanding though 10/10. The best I had. It simply Tasted like the famous indian Hyderabadi marag dish. The tomato chilli sauce was freshly made and tasted great with the rice. Food experience 10/10 Coming to service : one of the fair Arabic lady staff with a fair complexion had a bad attitude and she needs some serious customer service training. Initially she took away my menu from the table without asking and when I asked her to please keep it back she seemed to have a problem with that while placing it back on the table. Finally while I was still dining she came and took away the tomato chili sauce popped it in the soup bowl without asking if I was done! When I asked her to please give me the sauce she gave a bad look and placed the dirty tray in front of me to pick up the sauce myself from the dirty soup bowl. I didn’t complain though but she needs to learn some manners and fix her attitude. Avoid being served by her and request someone else to serve you to enjoy the...
Read moreThis place was a great surprise. I came here on the recommendation of my Roma friends, and I’m really glad I followed their lead. I had the lamb mandi, which was absolutely delicious – the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly spiced, and served on top of a generous portion of fragrant rice. The portion size was honestly huge, and for the price, it’s hard to beat. If you’re hungry and craving something hearty and full of flavour, this is definitely the right choice.
The staff were kind and welcoming, and the whole place had a relaxed, low-key vibe. It’s not trying to be fancy – just good food, done right, with people who care about what they serve. I could tell that it’s a popular spot with locals, and it felt like one of those places you wouldn’t necessarily find unless someone showed it to you.
It was also really nice to be in a space where different communities come together – I heard Arabic, Slovak, and English all around me, and it felt like a little cultural crossroads. That added a lot to the experience, especially for someone like me who’s interested in migration and community life.
In short: tasty food, good value, big portions, and kind people. I’ll definitely be coming back – and bringing others with...
