I decided to give this place a try and I was extremely disappointed.
I ordered a lamb/chicken mix plate to try both options. The chicken was dry due to excessive over cooking. The lamb was too fatty and had this "Game" taste to it. It is acceptable for lamb to have this taste, but not so much. The salad was good and sadly it was the highlight of my dish.
The plate was for 12.5 pounds, which is acceptable for the portion you get. Yet, the food quality is horrendous so no wonder you get so much food.
I asked for some cheese on the side and they charged me 1.5 pounds for like 50 grams of mozzarella, so keep that in mind while ordering.
Now the worst part came when I asked for water. I asked for tap water, and the waitress just went in there grabbed a bottle of still water and OPENED it for me. Then she placed it on my table and was like "enjoy". I never asked for bottled water, and I am certainly capable of opening my own bottle of water when I want to. They do it this way so you can't return it or ask them to replace it. Keep in mind this small bottle of water was for 2 pounds.
This next part is something that I personally do not like because of convenience and it screams tax evasion. Yes you got it right, they accept cash only.
Not recommended at all, and the search for a decent Turkish restaurant in...

There are two sides, the take away with benches where you can sit inside for no extra cost or the restaurant side. You pay a lot more in the restaurant (more than 50% in some cases) for the same grub except you are faced with more salad than you can eat. For around a fiver you get the same stuff in the takeaway side as you do the restaurant which you pay 8 pounds for.
All the meals I have had so far have been more or less the same except the choices of meat. You get the choice of rice or chips with every meal along with a salad which is dressed in balsamic vinegar and a piece of pizza base bread. I have eaten here for quite some time and always been happy but my recent experience left a lot to be desired. I went in Friday evening for a steak which I asked to be cooked rare. The meat was not cooked at all like I asked, I was in a rush so I didn't have time to challenge this and get it exchanged. Also the bill came to £17.10 for a thin piece of steak, 1 beer and peppercorn sauce which is outrageous. To top it all off the waitress chucked my change from a £20 note straight into the tip box then started messing about on her phone. Needless to say I asked for my change back. Will be thinking hard before using the...
Read moreThe restaurant side was struggling to say the least. Dirty table, dirty menu and loads of kebab meat on the floor beneath the table and chairs where we were sat.
Ordered the food, waitress came over then went to place the order....came back after a few minutes asked for us to place the order??? So the order was placed again, so we waited and waited...no drinks either, still no food.
Nice to see the same waitress take an order from a new table next to us...they got there drinks straight away. Asked the waitress about our food and drink, she said she'll be right back. She fame straight back, which was good, but then asked me to place my order....told her I'd placed my order and was waiting for the food.
45 mins later, walking out, explained to the men behind the counter cooking to cancel the order. This didn't go down well at all, very stroppy and rude telling me to wait. Rather not I said!
Anyway, left hungry and in a rush but smelling of kebab so every cloud hey!
The council hygiene score for this place is a 4, the inspection reported a lack of confidence with the running of the business....that's food handling procedures to you and me!
PS Istanbul website states a 5 star rating which...
