Pepe's — Restaurant in Slough

AVOID. Utterly disgusting.

It irritates me I have to even give it 1 star.

Ordered from here one night (2 chicken and rice box meals and 6 wings) our food turned up leaking, cold and stale. So I called to complain and as I was on the phone to a staff member my boyfriend pulled what seemed to be plastic out of the food!! The person on the phone told me they would send out the whole order again. So they did. About an hour or 2 after eating a little bit of the chicken and rice as I was quite put off by the thought of plastic being in there previously, me and my boyfriend began to feel unwell with horrible stomach cramps, later that night to find out the food that we had ordered had given us food poisoning! So badly actually we even had to call 111 and were severely dehydrated from not being able to keep anything down. The next day I called to complain about this and demanded a refund only to be told a bunch of rubbish by multiple different staff members! At first we were told that we will certainly get a refund and a manager would call us back, he didn’t. The next day I called again, to then be told they cannot do a refund as it was ordered through Just Eat and someone will call us back, no one called once again. So again, the next day I called, and was told that they will give us cash as the refund, asked me to come to the restaurant (if I can even call it that) to collect it, I refused. So instead they asked for my name and address so somebody could drop it round. 2 days went by and still no refund after calling both the days I was waiting and being told I will get it “that day”. Finally, I had enough of calling and demanded that I get my refund or I will be taking this further, not only did me and my boyfriend both have food poisoning, we missed days of work and had to call 111 twice! 5 days it took to get my refund, 5 days of calling everyday! All for the manager just to bank transfer it to me it.

So if you are planning on eating here again, my advice to...

My wife and I visit weekly and have enjoyed many great meals there. However, our experience today was extremely disappointing both in terms of food quality and customer service. We ordered the following: Gourmet beef burger Chicken tenders (for our son) -Chicken & rice box (my usual favorite)

the chicken in my meal was extremely dry , almost inedible, and did not taste fresh at all. While I understand that rice is often pre-cooked and reheated, the chicken seemed as though it had been microwaved to the point of losing all moisture. This was far below the usual standard at Pepe’s, where the grilled chicken is normally juicy, flavorful, and freshly prepared.

When I brought this to the attention of the young girl at the till, she did not listen to my concern or attempt to resolve the issue. Instead, she repeatedly insisted We cook everything fresh without acknowledging the problem. As a long-time customer, I know how Pepe’s food should taste, and this meal was clearly not up to standard.

Mistakes can happen, and I would have understood if the issue had been addressed professionally. However, the lack of empathy, refusal to listen, and overall rudeness from the staff made the situation much worse. I returned to my table but No one apologised, checked on the issue, or offered any solution, instead all staff were laughing at the situation looking like a careless clueless bunch that shouldn't be trusted to cook or serve a ...

A complete fraud and Worst place ever to visit , coustmer service experience was horrible , a man with bear who hardly can speak or understand any english was rude and aggressive and the only reason was they wanted to rip me off by charging extra in transaction made. It seems like all of the staff is well trained and as soon as you ask them they offer you a refund straight away , the menu at the shop has different price labled where as they charge you extra with out making you aware which is a clear breach of consumer act 2015. They must have been doing it previously but this time they were caught red handed by me Once confronted Rather then an apologising they started arguing with insulting behaviour probably expecting me to be scared , the only reason i had to leave was that kids with me luckily they refunded me with receipt which as a proof i will proceed further . I think council must have to be reported for this illegal activity and also relevant authorities perhaps public awareness is required . Many of my family members and friends who frequently visit this shop have also been informed with this incident, mu suggestion is to keep yourself away from cow boys .
