Dolium — Restaurant in South Hams

This is one of those rare finds. A place yet to be spoiled by being overly popular, but yet confident in the quality and authenticity of what they do. Sitting in the window on a September evening looking over the lights in the Dartmouth bay and listening to a great Italian playlist, this is as close as it gets to feeling on holiday whilst still being in the UK. Every aspect of the reassuringly short menu has been knowledgeably curated. These really are the best Northern Italian tasting plates you’ll find outside of being in Lombardy! This is relaxed, casual dining and it’s very best. The service from the owner was super helpful and friendly. The food was nicely prepared and presented, and the atmosphere was lovely. There was a lot of “cross table” chat. It’s a favourite with locals (well… it was the night we were there) but as tourists we were made to feel very welcome

Dolium is an excellent wine bar which also does an excellent Italian Tapas . The food is excellent and the choice of wine is outstanding. They have also a good choice of unfiltered Sardinian beer.
