Ebb & Flow — Restaurant in South Hams

Visited Ebb & Flow in Kingswear whilst on a short break in Dartmouth recently. My wife was diagnosed with Coeliac disease, out of the blue, a couple of years ago and trying to find gluten free food, when out and about, in the UK is extremely difficult. The number of times we have heard "we can offer you vegetables or salad" etc.

I found Ebb & Flow following extensive research, in relation to a gluten free breakfast and lunch options in the Dartmouth area. What initially caught my attention was the gluten free sausages on offer and indeed the whole gluten free breakfast. I rang up and spoke to a very helpful and pleasant person who clearly understood the nature of my wifes condition, which reassured me that it would be a safe place to eat. I reserved a table for my family in advance to avoid disappointment. We arrived in the morning as arranged and everything was ready for us. The setting was perfect overlooking the Dart estuary on a beautiful crisp winters morning.

The owners Jess and Sian were very welcoming and cleary understood and took the necessary precautions when preparing my wife's food, making sure it was cooked separately with no cross contamination. My wife was in her elements being able to eat a wonderfully cooked breakfast especially the sausage. It makes all the difference not having to make do with whatever can be found in the kitchen just to be able to eat out with the family.

I happened to mention that it was my wife's birthday and they made the occasion extra special by offering a free birthday cake to my wife.

I can not recommend Ebb & Flow enough if you are visiting Kingswear or Dartmouth. A big thank you to Jess and Sian for making a short family break extra special. 100%...

Absolutely loved my breakfast at Ebb and Flow in Kingswear! I ordered the ultimate bap and a mocha, both of which were outstanding. The mocha was one of the best I’ve had in ages—rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. My girlfriend enjoyed the same, and we both left very satisfied.

We also shared a raspberry croissant, which was a delightful surprise! It tasted like a jam donut but even better.

Our friend tried the vegan ultimate bap and also raved about it. The quality of the food here was impressive.

The staff were also lovely, Highly recommend Ebb and Flow for anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast...

☕️These folks are FANTASTIC! 🌅 As a local it is one of my favourite spots either when going on hike or to fire up the laptop and do some work with a view. They have an impressive range of cakes which cater for everyone (vegi, vegan, allergy sufferers, etc). The coffee is great, chai tea latte is cracking and as for their hot chocolate with a shot … these ladies really know what they are doing! Enjoyed a toasty last time I was there, hoping to try their lovely full cooked breakfast next time. Thank you for your contribution to Kingswear and Dartmouth, keep doing what...
