I visited the Lion House Tearoom yesterday afternoon with my son and our dog. I had heard very good things about this tearoom, and after a long walk in the sun around Rudyard lake we decided to pop into Leek and visit the Lion House. I love the fact that I was able to bring my dog into the downstairs tearoom, this isn't allowed in many places now-a-days sadly. I had a latte, which was incredibly good quality. The coffee was sourced locally and was very good indeed!
My son had some of the ice cream in a bowl. My son is Autistic and sadly he had a moment and decided to swipe the whole bowl of ice cream off the table and onto the floor which smashed the china bowl. I was very embarrassed by this incident, however the owner very quickly came over to clear the bowl without any fuss and brought over a fresh bowl of ice cream and didn't charge me again. I cannot thank her enough for understanding and being so generous as to give my son another bowl of ice cream! She also brought over a bowl of water for my dog, which was accommodating.
If I could give Lion House Tearoom 6 stars i would, they put the cherry on the icing of a wonderful family day. Friendly, local and very welcoming. Thanks to...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is hands down our favourite place for lunch! Whenever my little boy and I go, it’s always such a lovely experience. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, the staff are genuinely kind – especially Sam and Jess, who always go out of their way to be sweet with my little boy.
He loves the beautiful window displays and gets so excited to pick out a cake from the glass counter. The themed cakes are incredible – the Gruffalo one was his favourite – and the lemon cake is honestly next level. Everything is made with such care, and you can tell they really take pride in what they do.
We always leave with full bellies and big smiles. Couldn’t...
Read moreVisited on Friday with my husband and enjoyed a really enjoyable experience at Lion House. We were In the downstairs area which is lovely and quiet and tastefully decorated with olde world items. We were served by a very pleasant young man and I had a delicious bowl of mushroom soup served with a cheese scone which was very fresh and tasty. The tea for two was in a large pot and there was enough for at least two cups each. We will certainly visit again in the very near future and this will become a place to go for good service, excellent food and a lovely environment. Well done to those who own...
