Having moved to the local area we really wanted to try some of the local restaurants. Little Lanka was rated highly and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was named Innocent and was the best. He talked us through the menu and made some great recommendations. The highlights were Ceylon King Prawns and Lamb Koththu. We probably wouldn't have gone for them normally but Innocent talked us through them and we're so happy he did, he really made the night. All the dishes we had were superb, the service was stupendous and overall Little Lanka was sublime. Can't wait to go back again. On a "Covid" note the restaurant was super clean and everyone had really good practices. Everyone had PPE and sanitiser was available, felt very comfortable in there. Would recommend to anyone. As we had lived in central Manchester previously we are annoyed we hadn't made the journey before, better than most restaurants in the city. Will be recommending to everyone.

We were searching for good restaurant in Stockport and Little Lankanhad good reviews and food also looked good. So we decided to come for dinner on Saturday evening. Interiors were decorated quite interesting with Sri Lankan art form and quite colourful and bright decor. For starters we had mutton rolls ,vada and hopper. Main course deviled paneer, nasi goreng, chilli chicken with rice, chicken idiyappam kothu and chicken lamp rice.Drinks we had necto( which was too sweet for me, not to my liking). Food was good, I liked the fact that they maintained spiciness and tasted authentic. Good decent quantity and quite filling. Recommend mutton rolls, idiyappam kothu and lamp rice. Staff was very friendly and warm. Will come again to try the other dishes.

We went here tonight to celebrate my Birthday and wow, what a fantastic meal we had! I’m a vegetarian and the veggie options were brilliant, and everything we had was delicious! I really recommend the pineapple curry and the egg hopper to start! But the best part of the night was our fantastic host, Innocent, who offered us the absolute best service, with lots of suggestions and recommendations, and even brought out a dessert with a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to me! I’ve never really had Sri Lankan food before and it was a truly fun and exciting experience to try something new. I’m so proud we have this wonderful place on our doorstop in Stockport and I can’t recommend it more!

Underwhelming at best. The whole experience from the waiter not knowing what lagers they had to when we asked the manager to move tables due to a wobbly poorly positioned table as it wasn't busy, Instead he just propped the rickity table up with folded paper. It was , well bizzare. The devils chicken tasted like shops own bbq sauce with a bit of spice added. The paneer kofta had very little paneer in it and also appeared to have chicken and pork in it. When we enquired what it was he stated it was soy. Now, I cook with soy, tofu, seitan and jackfruit all the time, this was nothing of the sort. Which although we're not vegetarians, we do try and cook alot of vegetarian and vegan food, so to try and be fobbed off in this manner was a tad ridiculous considering it was labelled as a vegetarian option. The pumpkin curry was really nice though. Hence why its a 2 star review. But overall and for the cost its not the best, with lots of options in south Manchester for a variety of spice infused food I would seek food elsewhere. Maybe it was an off night, the waiter seemed new (and if this is the case he definetely needs more training), the manager was lovely and bubbly and informative with the other guests, unfortunately we seemed to draw the short straw with the waiter. Maybe our bar has been set too high by other restaurants (if your reading this and haven't tried Sanskruti in Burnage I heavily advise it). Who knows? But it was hardly the 5 star glowing reviews everyone else seems to...

Made an online delivery order at 17.05 through their website, payment taken and confirmation received, but no food. Called the restaurant but no answer. Found another number on the website and called it leaving a message. Was called back and was promised they would contact the restaurant themselves and get back to us. Eventually I called the number again and left another message. Didn't hear back so couldn't even cancel and go elsewhere. No apology, but after the call we did get an acknowledgement email, and 13 minutes later a dispatch notification. As I was writing this a received a call saying it would arrive soon. 10 minutes later the driver called unable to find the door and I had to talk him through putting the house number into the entryphone. 2 hours from putting the order in it finally arrived. Little Lanka, this is totally unacceptable, and not being able to contact the restaurant is shocking. We also tried emailing before ordering with a query and their email didn't work- it returned undelivered. At this point the quality of the food doesn't matter. As good as it was- and it was excellent- I can't recommend any place that is so very bad at providing actual service. Upon delivery was given free mutton rolls, which was completely inappropriate given that our order was for 2...

Friday night, girly catch up. 17.30 meet up, place was empty but got busier later. Drinks were priced well. They had lots of vegetarian option, my friend had the paneer curry, she didn't eat it as the paneer was not cooked. I ordered a coconut roti. It came out looking like an uncooked quorn burger, but I gave it a go. Instead of a mild bread, I got scotch bonnet pepper pieces. Even my friend who likes spicy, had one bite and refused to eat it. We got an apology and not charged as this had been a mistake. The garlic bread and the side dish of yellow potato curry (not even on the menu) we're the best things. I had chicken mild curry, it was thigh meat and wasn't great, its not like me to leave food. The presentation was fantastic. I just wish the food tasted as good as it looked. Pudding, chocolate fudge cake, and ice cream, thank the heavens for this as I was hungry. I hate to slate a small independent business, but I have to be honest in all my reviews. To improve the menu, I would have better descriptions of the dishes. Some people won't touch thigh or leg meat of chicken. 3 of us all agreed we wouldn't come back, that's never happened, one of us at least likes the places we visit on a...
