Harappa Restaurant — Restaurant in Stockport

Summary: over 3.5 hrs wait time, 25 attempted calls with 2 successful calls. Were told multiple lies about the delivery. Do not recommend. Proof of timings attached.

We ordered at 1940 with an estimated delivery of 2105. I called at 2125 and was told my food was ready and they were waiting for a driver. I called at 2155 and they had a driver they were just packing my food and the person on the phone would check the order personally. We waited another 30 minutes as the takeaway is only 10 min drive away. After this point, we were unable to get through to the restaurant having attempted 27 times throughout the night. We called Just Eat and got through to someone at 1115 and they gave us a full refund plus an apology voucher. At 1120, the delivery man turned up and we refused the order. We understand the situation currently and we would've been open to a certain amount of delay beyond 2105 however the lies are unacceptable. We have previously enjoyed a curry from here but we will not be using them again. There are plenty of alternative curry houses...

What can I say other than WOW! Myself and my partner have recently moved to Stockport and have tried a couple of Indians and we weren’t too impressed, however we came across this place last night and decided to give them a call. The gentleman on the phone was extremely polite and friendly which is a really good sign. When I went to collect the order, each staff member was wearing a face mask and they had proper covid precautions in place. Although I was waiting for the food longer than expected, it was totally worth it as I was handed a complimentary 2L bottle of Coke to go with my order which was a really nice touch. When I got home and we tried the food, we were both really really impressed and it was one of the best curries we have had in a while, and the best out of the Indians in Stockport we have tried. We felt obliged to give them a call to let them know how good it was! Will definitely be coming back here next time and each time thereafter....

A large group of us came here this weekend for a birthday meal , tables had to be rearranged as we would of all been separated, one of the staff members that was there was plesent and very helpful , However I do not feel they could cope with the large amount of people, they took names per order but they kind of went out of the window and it was like they didn't know who's food was for who even tho they had a list they seemed confused an was just shouting out what they had in there hand , 2 of the meals were served on one plate (2 mixed kebab meals) , one looked like they just threw it on a plate , everyone in the restaurant had been served before our table even tho they came in after us we waited over 2 hours for food we got there for the booking at 5:30 and still hadn't received food after 7pm . Apart from the man who gave me a glass of wine I probably wouldn't go again even tho the food was good ....
