A lovely place to have as a local that has finally found the management it desperately needed. This area has a few nice pubs and eateries but they are by no means abundant. A friendly, inclusive place to go for a drink every so often is really valuable to me as a Davenport resident and The Wheatsheaf is one of a small number of places that provide that for me. Want a clean, crisp beer from a well kept cellar? I do! You can have that here. Want a place where the owner, staff and locals will smile at you when you walk in the door and take the time to learn your name? This is the pub for you. Fab! It's by far the friendliest pub I've found in Stockport. My son is a singer and he loves the Karaoke in here. The landlady is great. So friendly and welcoming. The d.j is fab too.
