Sushi Haus — Restaurant in Stockport

In my opinion - Not great at all. I feel bad saying this , I mean it's just OK for Marple but in the grand scheme of Sushi from around the world it's really Bad. I think in the bottom 2 that I've been to and I've been to many many sushi restaurants throughout the world and even to some in bizarre cities throughout Europe , where you wouldnt expect their sushi to be all that good. All of which are leaps and bounds beyond sushi haus. I think it's a case of being Overpriced for substandard Sushi , In my opinion. I should add , i dont visit a restaurant and a takeaway just once and review it for a number of reasons and i have been here 4 maybe 5 times . We like sushi , and there are very few places to get it from locally So i make the choice to pay more than i value it , or i simply dont have the option to have it . so my review is Not a one off negative feedback review .

example - The salmon is scaly and has skin on which puts me off personally. This has happened a few times ignored it the first time then after the 2nd occasion i chose something esle - guys please sort this as you are not cheap . Next issue they take a very very very long time to prepare something what looks like it's been done in a couple of minutes. Also each time i visit ive had missing items , such as soy sauce , wasabi and if they are there they never give you enough of either i highlight this each time and each time are given the same blank impression which after reading your follow up to my review is obviously arrogance and denial .

price wise its just poor -somethings better than others but i do feel since the 'new' owners took over a couple of years ago , they made some negative changes and its almost comical at how it was done . The orignal prices were scribbled out and new prices written on top , for example the nigiri was £290 for 3 , this then became £390 for 2 No reprint or new price list just a scribble and rewrite.. its not the exact correct pricing but an example of how things went up in price for a lower quantity and quality.

Im not looking to slander or upset anyone , if you love sushi like i do ,you should be equally as excited and disappointed by sushi haus. excited its here , disappointed its SO disappointing , especially if you have tasted sushi at ANY other sushi restaurant .

In summary - It's just OK and if you can't find any other place near by and im sure you might struggle , then give it a try - i hope the owners take my points on board and when you try it - all my issues are negated . but right now If you Google maps sushi and there's an alternative locally . I would recommend you Take it

On a final note - see the owners response below - i feel my points raised are being taken the wrong way . the sarcastic remark regarding no longer looking to 'bizzare cities ' for inspiration is comical. I would suggest you take inspiration anywhere its on offer it could help and you need help. These same restaurants i reference surely take their inspiration from source like you imply to do. only they seem to have grasped the concept a little better .

And i guess if i'm breaching any laws writing a negative review regarding multiple negative experiences at your subpar sushi restaurant , i would suggest you take legal action . give me the heads up and ill stop wasting my money at your restaurant and save up for the court case - Well handled guys ! I should add for the review

The Staff are not...

I want to share my impressions of delivery from this restaurant. I paid 40 pounds for 3 types of sushi, with 2 pounds delivery. We arrived in a bag, the sauce was spilled all over the bag, there was no decoration and there were no sushi sticks either. one soy sauce for two persons. Should we eat with our hands? ginger and wasabi were in a container next to the sushi; due to shaking, they were in the wasabi and in order to eat them, a lot of rice had to be removed. it was very spicy. The sushi was falling apart and there was a sweet sour smell coming from the fish. We finally decided to try them; it wasn’t very good, but it wasn’t so bad in taste. literally after an hour or two, my boyfriend and I couldn’t get off the toilet. I felt very sick and we ended up poisoned by them!! 🤢. Horrible place don't go there!! especially with children. the prices are very high, but they do not live up to expectations and as in the photo!! disgusting what they pay you...

Please be very open minded when ordering this as a takeaway, to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The food arrived cold, which had to be re- heated. More disappointing was the quality, bland and tasteless, fortunately there was plenty of ginger, but when you take into account the cost, Asda do better!! I ordered the Katsu curry, Chicken, my favourite, it was dry, tasteless, didn't feed it the animals, best place was the bin. Couldn't really go wrong with the miso soup, should've ordered a gallon. This was supposed to have been a treat for the wife's Birthday, we do enjoy a good Japanese, not from here again. One thing's for sure, it will...
