Subway — Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

Pretty good placement for a Subway, right by a train station which was really the only reason I went here. I will say from even 30 yards away however I had no idea it was a Subway without having found it on google maps. Access via steep stairs, although I dont know for sure this was the only access, it might have been, which made it difficult with my work bags (I was travelling home from working away). Inside was pretty tiny, a barrier directed customers into a queue, but this barrier split up a space that really was only big enough for one line of people not a back and forth snake of two people. The seating area was larger than expected which I dont find often in a subway but the back of it just looks out onto their garbage etc. I mostly just went here for a cheap coffee, which was pretty awful, but as I said I wanted a cheap coffee so I didnt expect it to be good. The hygiene of the staff seemed adequate for such a place, and nothing inside the restaurant itself seemed dirty so that we a good start. As for the demeanour of the staff that was also good enough for me although bear in mind I prefer as little talk as possible. I wouldnt necessarily ever go again if I was in the area, except maybe for another cheap coffee, as the place felt too claustrophobic for me as I'm a pretty tall person, and that always puts me off of...

I had an awful experience at this Subway . The server, Mani, was extremely rude and unhelpful. When I asked about a 50% off offer on a footlong, he told me to download the app. After downloading, I asked for help navigating the app but he ignored me twice, prioritizing cleaning tasks despite there being 45 minutes until closing and no other customers.

When I asked for help again, he rudely told me he was busy and to just order if I couldn't find the offer. He then insulted me, questioning if it was my first time at Subway and why I didn't know how to use the app, which was incredibly embarrassing. When I inquired if he was having a bad day, he admitted he was covering someone else's shift.

To make matters worse, he made my order with minimal chicken and sauces, resulting in a dry, unappetizing sandwich. Avoid this location...

Had a chicken teriyaki from here which gave me a touch of food poisoning, not surprised looking at the place its not the greatest in cleanliness but when you're in a rush needs must, when getting served the lad on the till was quite alright, but the girl serving was a nightmare she was so rude and obnoxious, I asked what drink I could have with the meal deal and she said any cup drink or water, so I said it doesn't matter I wanted a robinsons and the girl in a very rude manner said "I just said that", she clearly didn't as the lad on the till rolled his eyes and said she's having a bad day..not my problem I'm afraid, you took the job so try doing it properly..I will not be visiting this subway again after...
