Read moreThe White Star's main point of attraction is the ale. Locally brewed Titanic ale specifically. While the food is reasonable it cannot be described as good value. Like so many pubs - that provide food - what was once given is slowly but surely being taken away. Thinner slices, less chips and the diminishing salad. Everything shrinks, except for the price, following the once excellent value J D Wetherspoons Beer and Burger model. First they took the onion rings away, then the salad became pitiful, then that white paper pot of relish vanished and a portion of chips imperceptibly became a handful.
