Booked a meal here for a special occasion but was severely let down.
Came in to see the majority of tables dirty, plates from previous customers & a lack of coordination. We had reserved a table but there is no one greeting people to guide you to a table so we had to find it ourselves, politely asking people who had sat there to move (felt awful but shouldn’t be our job to do this).
After a while we were ready to order but given the lack of floor staff (tables remained cleaned for the the majority of the time we were here), presumed we had to go to the bar to order. The bar was absolutely overwhelmed, people queuing from every angle with only 2 people pouring pints. This should have been a good hint that this place is much more of a pub for drinks rather than for food. It’s not cheap food but we were under time pressure so decided to dine in.
Ordered a variety of mains with the highlight being the chips - these were tasty! The negative being the £20 mixed grill - the steak was overcooked and the chicken was dryer than the Sahara - genuinely turned into gum in your mouth. This was fed to the next table’s dog who enjoyed it. Even that table commented how dry the chicken looked!
Severely disappointed in the whole dining experience. Just hoping it was a fluke and the coach house suffered from a few floor staff calling in sick that night & not a reoccurring event. We booked this place based on the reviews but the atmosphere on the night was so loud, people shouting & getting drunk. It seems they had reserved a part of the pub but had spilled out onto the other side of the pub.
Not a peaceful pub in the lightest that night so we were left really saddened. It’s not cheap & just was...

We visited The Coach House in Stratford on Friday, August 2nd at 4:15pm, and unfortunately experienced what can only be described as extreme rudeness and bullying from a young man who claimed to be the manager.
One member of our party—an elderly, disabled lady—approached the bar without her walking aid and waited patiently to be served. Despite being clearly visible and the only person at the bar, she was ignored by the young female bartender, who then left the bar without explanation or acknowledgement.
After our friend politely asked for service and expressed concern over being ignored, a young male staff member (who identified himself as the manager) approached and delivered an unnecessarily harsh and patronising reprimand, claiming they were understaffed and busy. Our elderly friend calmly responded that this wasn’t her fault, only to be met with a dismissive and rude gesture as he walked away.
We were left shocked by the lack of basic courtesy and empathy shown. The entire interaction was handled unprofessionally and with zero respect for a disabled elderly customer. We won’t be returning—and we would caution others, particularly those with accessibility needs, to think twice...
Read morePopped in for lunch, very nice pub clean and well presented. Staff were all very polite and professional. We ordered food which took around 15 minutes to come out. Food arrived hot and was delicious. We ordered the lasagna, a decent sized portion which came with two slices of garlic bread and was very tasty, the Italian sandwich again very tasty and a good portion size for lunch that came with great chunky chips. The steak, onion and cheese sandwich was very nice but my only criticism here I wasn't asked how I would like the steak cooked however it was still slightly pink(i would have preferred rare) but the steak its self was a good cut with no fat or gristle, the onions had been softened but not browned so were lacking abit of the sweetness. Drinks were good and again reasonable priced we had a large white wine, a soft drink and a pint of cask ale which had been well kept. Overall a great place and reasonably priced would...
