This place deserves a minus! WORST HYGIENE
Serious Hygiene Issues – Stay Away!
I strongly advise against visiting The food of love - stratford, due to the shocking lack of hygiene and cleanliness. After hearing alarming stories from a friend who once worked there, I’ve seen firsthand just how unsanitary this place truly is.
Firstly, the dishes you eat on are “cleaned” in a sink filled with stinky, filthy water. Instead of being properly washed, they often come out dirtier than when they went in. It’s clear that cleanliness is not a priority here, which is a huge red flag for anyone concerned about food safety.
As for the food itself, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s fresh. The majority of the food served is reheated in the microwave, which speaks volumes about the quality and care put into their menu. If you’re expecting a fresh, wholesome meal, you’ll be sorely disappointed.
The coffee preparation is even worse. The steamer is rarely cleaned, and to make matters worse, they use a butter knife (which is anything but clean) to scoop up milk foam. The overall state of the coffee-making process is downright unhygienic and would make any coffee lover think twice before ordering.
After learning about these unacceptable practices, I didn’t even bother trying the food, and I’m so glad I didn’t. I strongly urge you to avoid this place at all costs if you care about your health and well-being. There are plenty of cleaner, safer, and more respectful places to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee—this is definitely not...
Read moreWe went here towards the end of the day looking for a cream tea and something for the children. The cafe was very quiet and staff were not rushed. Whilst the tea and scone were ok, there was a very limited portion of clotted cream and jam.
We ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans, and a cheese sandwich. I requested no dressing on the accompanying salad garnish for both dishes. When the meals came; one had no salad garnish and the other had dressing. A member of staff did correct this. The jacket potato meal was good and the cheese sandwich was a good size with plenty of grated cheese.
The decor was obviously themed towards Shakespeare/The Bard's plays, but we felt it could with being modernised. What sounded like operatic music was the background music, which didn't seem the ideal choice for such an environment.
With the many cafes in Stratford I would not choose to go back. Its location was not totally central which, including the time of day, may have been a reason it was less busy than the cafes...
Read moreMy brother and I visited Stratford Upon Avon and we visited The Food Of Love for breakfast. I ordered at the counter and when I sat back down I realised I had been overcharged. I then had to go back to the counter and query this, which was resolved immediately. There was rude and overly loud cackling old women dining in there and when I came back from the loo I said excuse me yet the entitled customer moved barely an inch and didn't acknowledge me. Speaking of the toilet this was the smallest one I've ever used in any establishment and it was dirty with dirty walls. Staff were not coherent, I asked for red and brown sauce, the waitress went to fetch it but only returned with brown. At this point I just wanted to eat and leave. The food was very minimal, for £28 for 2 breakfasts, we expected more and was not satisfied however the quality was ok. More attentive staff, larger cleaner bathroom, portion control on food is what's required to make this...
