The Snug Stroud — Restaurant in Stroud

Four of us went this morning. It was immaculately clean inside and it is well situated next to the canal. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was delicious and full of flavour. Three of us ordered the Vegan Breakfast (£11.50 each) which should have had smoked tofu, beans, tomatoes greens, mushrooms, hummus, harissa and toast. However....it was only several hours later this evening when we looked at a photo we took of the menu board in the restaurant that we realised something about our breakfasts... none of us got the smoked tofu. There was an artichoke that we weren't expecting but we assumed that came under 'greens'. If it was a replacement for the tofu it certainly wasn't explained to us and in anycase it wouldn't have been an adequate alternative. We will all definitely go again despite this and we would...

Went here for breakfast this morning before heading to the (nearby) station to travel home after a short stay in Stroud. The staff were friendly and the feel was very much in line with the cafe name - snug! The prices are really reasonable for the portions and there was a great variety of options. One little criticism was that one of the staff was having a phone call with an egg supplier talking about the eggs not being fresh. We felt this a little inappropriate to do front-of-house and a little awkward as my fiancé was eating eggs as part of his breakfast so I'm not sure why they were being served if this was a problem but this may well have been a misunderstanding. Hubbie and I made our first visit to The Snug Stroud and what a fantastic place it is... We went for coffee but ended up having breakfast and it was lovely. Hubbie had a create your own brekkie and was thoroughly impressed, comments were...beautiful toast, crispy bacon and perfect eggs....one very happy man. I had the turmeric eggs....oh my goodness, amazing. So many flavours and absolutely perfect poached eggs....heaven. Staff were really friendly and cafe is lovely, oh and great music playing!!
