Cafe Max — Restaurant in Stroud

Myself and OP went into cafe max. Sat down for a while (we had already looked at the menu and decided what we wanted). Looking around to see where the workers were because we were waiting to be served after waiting for a good while and no one had come over, yet they saw us. One was just stood around talking to someone and the other was sat with someone (who looked like to be a friend. Im not going to assume that because i’m not sure 100%). She finally got up after about 5 or so more minutes of acknowledging we were there, then finally served us. Bear in mind my family and i used to be a very regular customer there a few years back, until someone else took it over and they were just rude, even slower service (not that the others were even slow - they were good. and we were so regular they already knew our orders each time which made the experience and even better (i’m not expecting it from them, that’s not what i’m saying though, and we also don’t go their very much anymore). Ever since it’s gone a bit downhill. I would just expect a bit better as i myself work in an environment where customer service is important. And theirs in cafe max...

Firstly, I am reviewing this cafe as a value diner, some would describe it as a "Greasy Caff". I popped in at 9am on a Sunday morning for a full English breakfast and very glad I did. The portions are great value for the money and the food was well cooked and certainly not Greasy. I ordered extra fried bread and wasn't expecting the 2 full slices and the 2 full slices of toast. Most places would give you the one slice.

One improvement would be to put the hand drier on the inside of the gents toilet not on the outside.

I would highly recommend this cafe for those looking for a big breakfast at a good price. It's a good clean place...

Ryan E (0 review) The worst breakfast experience in my whole time living in and around stroud, Ordered three breakfasts and a couple of drinks This was approximately 12:00 and it wasn't busy in there,Waited 20 minutes just to get drinks then it took approximately 35 minutes from ordering to get food to our table which didn't come at the same time and when it did arrive was wrong cold and missing one whole breakfast. I will never return to this cafe and would advise anyone considering going here to think twice and just walk a little further up the street and...
