Upon arrival the wheelchair/pushchair access was not apparent meaning myself and my sister had to carry a pushchair and a new born up 5 steep steps. We ordered drinks and sat down. We decided to try ordering food through the app as the staff all wear tops advertising this. We ordered and a few minutes later a large rude lady appeared and slammed them down on a tray saying 'two drinks' and walked off. Clearly when Wetherspoons rolled out this new app service, not all the staff were happy about having to deliver drinks to tables as her attitude was disgusting. The food arrived which was mediocre, the chicken was dry on the edges (we had the Christmas chicken burger) but overall not too bad. The cutlery still had food on it and when we asked for a new set, the waitress told us 'its only water marks' and inspected the cutlery. I then explained, that infact there was food on it and she accepted this fact and walked off with a quick 'Sorry'. I don't personally feel the need in a disagreement and inspection from the staff over cutlery not being clean. A simple replacement would have been fine rather than their unwanted opinions. I wouldn't choose that food selection again because I wasn't overly impressed but equally I wouldn't visit the bolebridge again as they have a clear staff attitude problem. We were also the only table that wasn't asked how our meal was which left us rather disappointed again. When they cleared the plates away we said thank you, and the response was 'ok'. Since when we're manners such hard work from people's whose wages your paying?! Thanks...
Read moreBehold, The Bole Bridge, a Wetherspoon pub that acts as Tamworth's very own cultural touchstone. Forget history, forget heritage—this is where the town's true spirit resides, an ode to cheap pints and the glorious, unending saga of the Wetherspoon app. The app, of course, is the pinnacle of the dining experience. It's a digital ballet where you order a pint and then settle in for a game of "will it arrive before I develop scurvy?" The answer is usually yes, but the drama is half the fun. The food, delivered to your table by a cheerful member of staff who looks like they've been on a 12-hour shift since 2012, is a triumph of microwave technology. A "curry club" on a Thursday is a culinary journey to a distant land where all spices taste suspiciously like mild korma. But the true journey, the great pilgrimage of any Wetherspoon visit, is to the toilets. Nestled in a remote corner of the establishment, they are a labyrinthine marvel of architecture. You set off with a full bladder and a brave heart, navigating a series of winding corridors, past tables of pensioners debating the price of a pint and students attempting to complete a four-pinter-and-a-burger challenge. By the time you find them, you're not just relieving yourself, you're celebrating a feat of navigation. It's not just a pub; it's an adventure, a comedy, and a surprisingly affordable testament to the human spirit's ability to settle for something less...
Read moreWe visited Wetherspoons on the 7th of January 2022, where my group of friends and I had a lovely sit down meal. The food was delicious, however after finishing our meal, my friend and I decided to use the restroom. On our way there, we walked past two men, sat by the bar and we heard the phrase "one for each of us" as their eyes followed us. Being younger girls we decided to continue to the toilets where we got worried about walking back to our table. On our way back we once again got followed as we speedily tried to get back to the table with our group of friends. After getting rationally upset about this, one of the men from our group decided to go and report the two much older men, when discussing the matter with the manager, instead of doing anything about this he asked our friend to 'stand back as nothing could be done'. For the rest of the evening we were on edge and paranoid about a second occurrence as not even a warning was given to the men. The men in our group then had to escort many of the women to either the bar or the toilet if anything was needed. Once again, a nice place and a nice meal but such a scary experience that almost ruined my night. Just wish the signs in the toilets that stated 'everyone has the right to feel safe anywhere'...
