Since it opened in January of this year, this has risen from my coffee-'stop' of choice to the only one I visit in Shaldon. The coffee itself is sublime. Happily, the freshly-prepared-in-house sandwiches are also delish, and ideal to take-out and enjoy on either of Shaldon's beaches - you can't go wrong with the crab.
The owners have wisely continued to serve the Salcombe Dairy ice-cream which made the former Yummy Shop so popular with holidaymakers. lollie bean sells a small but thankfully well-curated selection of cookies and cakes (perfect as a treat if you need a spot of mindfulness in the lull between school runs!) and there are often new things in; the recently added Root Beer Floats are heavenly...
It's very easy to reach - only a minute or two's walk to/from the beach - and perhaps of greatest importance to walkers, Shaldonians and tourists equally is the fact that both lollie bean and its owners are not just friendly, but dog-friendly, too.

There's also a little green around the back if the cafe gets busy and the weather is fine. Is also new to the village so hope they do well...
