Staying at an Airbnb a short walk away, we walked into town looking for a late lunch. We drove in from South London where we're staying for our vacation. We're from the States visiting dear London friends and are spending a few days in Broadstairs visiting more folks. Anyway, halfway here our two kids started yowling in hunger but we pressed on. We'd been to Broadstairs before and we knew the town had a bunch of great eateries near the beaches. But we didn't know about Neptune's Hall until today! The place was great! I'm soooo 100% all about pub life so after popping out heads in to see what's up, I was like, ahhhh, yeah. Everyone was so welcoming and the bar staff was lovely (just be sure to hold the door to close it if you stop in, cause it slams). My wife and I got olive anchovy pizza and our girls split a plain pie. Then drinks. A lovely bourbon cocktail for me and a frozen mojito for my wife (served strong which, for my long suffering wife, is just what the Dr ordered). And if that wasn't enough, the pizzas came with a small pot of homemade chili sauce. I slathered it on everything and when I found out I could buy some, I merrily gave the nice bartender £5 (well, my wife paid, but still). I'm looking forward to trying it on a breakfast sandwich back in Philly, instead of hot sauce. Now on to the beach, but we'll be back before we head back to London!

On our way back to AirB&B and feeling very hungry came past the Neptune’s Hall by chance. Could smell the Pizza and saw the 2 for 1 on a Wednesday sign…great place, lovely atmosphere and really tasty pizzas. Early evening is usually parents and their kids, all very sweet and then later on a bit more grown up!

Perfectly respectable old boozer. Plenty of wood throughout makes this one of the more handsome pubs in the town. Usual local beers on tap (none of which really blew me away but good enough for a sesh). Big glass windows through which you can people-watch. Solid.

I really like this pub, it's got a good feel to it and the people are nice. It seems to attract quite an affluent and diverse clientele. No old farts and not much riff raff from what I can tell. The staff are quite young and very friendly and they seem to enjoy working here which adds to the vibe. The only thing I would change here are the beers on offer. They only ever seem to have Whitstable bay pale and masterbrew on the casks. It's the same every time and if u don't drink lager then your choice is very limited. As much as I love the pale ale it's nice to have other options, there's plenty out there to choose from so I don't understand this strategy. All said and done, this is one of the best...

Shockingly, who I have later been informed as the MANAGER of the place stated verbally abusing my boyfriend for “slamming” the door on a day with yellow warning wind, after I had left behind my bag in the pub. I stepped in as I was afraid things would escalate, despite my boyfriend being a loyal and docile patron of the place. The manager intimated me and had alcohol on his breath and was very aggressive. I have never felt more afraid of any pub, which is a shame as we have been here plenty of times, all love to the bar staff who are incredibly sweet. I will be raising this with Sheperd Neame as we were both completely baffled after...
