After reading the reviews we decided to have a late light lunch here. What a disappointment. My partner ordered the Calamari with a side order or chunky chips and I went for the mini fishcakes. The calamari unfortunately was horrendously chewy and had the texture of deep fried elastic bands (they were immediately sent straight back, uneaten, and a refund issued). The fishcakes…. Well they really need to be renamed potato cakes as the potato to fish ratio was about 90% potato and 10% fish as shown in the photo… (the fish is the little white bit in the middle and all 4 were the same). Not a place we will be in a rush to revisit which is a shame as the location is lovely.

Restaurant is amazing on a sunny day even better, food is great, most staff is very polite and helpful, however i am concerned about the pub area, where i can see loads of staff but only a few would be there to help or take the order, even more concerned about the short older waitress who clearly said 'ill get the drinks to your table' thn 30 mins later, after asking a waiter from the restaurant, he came back saying ' your drinks are ready at the end of the bar'.....what? second time, went again for another aperol spritz....same lady came with the drink, put it on the bar and left not even looking at me...that spoilt it a bit, hope management can address this quickly.

The price of £12.50 for a burger and chips set the expectations quite high, I couldn't have been more wrong. I ordered 2 burgers for my wife and I, a burger for one child and a sandwich for the other. Our burgers came out still pink in the middle and the bread on the sandwich was a bit dried out but my granddaughter was ok with it. I sent the burgers back which came looking more akin to a McDonalds burger - just thrown together, not presented well like the originals. Also one of the burgers was ordered with a gluten free roll when the 2nd attempt came out the server said "oh yeah, wants that meant to be gluten free" but we had to insist that it was changed, again. Also one burger was cooked again from scratch whereas my wife ended up with my one but reheated. I know this because my wife had originally cut hers in half completely but I had just took a small bit on the edge off mine and she had that bit missing off hers. Finally, the burgers were said to be home made, which I am sure they are but the patties were bland, do they not know you are meant to season the mix. I WILL NOT be returning here, over priced for the quality and definitely not cooked by an experienced chef and not even an apology, just plonked the stuff on the table. Had I not paid in advance at the bar, I wouldn't have been paying...

This is a mixed review because I really liked the food and the staff that served me were great.

Initially I thought the prices were a bit steep, but I really thought I got what I paid for. My daughters and the rest of my group all really thought the food was lovely.

My issue with my visit was dogs. Specifically, dogs sat at the tables with no challenge from staff.

Now, dogs aren’t my cup of tea at the best of times, but I really draw the line at having dogs sat at tables. This is not hygienic and should be challenged by the staff or the premises owners.

At one point I even saw one of the staff stroking a dog at one of the tables and then go straight back to serving people behind the bar without washing her hands or using hand sanitiser. Luckily for me that member of staff didn’t serve me or I would have had to say something.

I really think premises that allow dogs should insist that dogs are kept on the floor and kept silent. I don’t want my meal and conversation disturbed by yapping dogs every few minutes, if I wanted that I’d go to a dog show.

In summary: Food? Great! Prices? Ok Hygiene? Could do better Dogs at...

Went for breakfaat here this morning . Was seated outside. Ordered a breakfast. Asked for my egg well done when ordering.. breakfast arrived with a an egg which was raw. So I asked my waitress to take it back and for them to flip the egg .. She returned with the egg still raw so I asked her again could she ask the chef to flip . It. She later brought the egg back. All seemed fine then the manager came over and asked if all was OK but the waitress had cried as she said I shouted at her . What for asking her to ask the chef to cook my egg. This didnt happened . maybe she's the sensitive type . I was nothing but polite saying oh I'm sorry but I just can eat a raw egg. I was made to feel like I'd done something wrong . I suggest you employ better chefs. Improve your customer service. Serve edible food oh and clean your tables they...
