Dining at Gnostic Restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, genuine hospitality that set the tone for the entire evening. The ambiance was both mystical and modern—dim lighting, thoughtfully curated decor, and soft music created a serene, almost sacred atmosphere that truly lives up to the restaurant’s name.
But let’s talk about the food: absolutely phenomenal. Every dish felt like a carefully crafted work of art—bold flavors, beautiful presentation, and ingredients that were clearly of the highest quality. The tasting menu was a spiritual journey of taste, especially the wild mushroom risotto and the charred octopus, both of which were unforgettable. Their cocktail program is equally impressive; the signature “Divine Elixir” was a highlight with its subtle herbal notes and perfect balance.
The staff were not only attentive but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu, offering insightful descriptions and perfect wine pairings. It felt like they weren’t just serving food—they were sharing a philosophy.
Gnostic is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience. If you’re looking for a meal that engages all the senses and leaves you feeling both full and inspired, this is the place. I’ll be back soon—and I’ll be bringing...
Read moreLovely venue, the scoop is it's a well kept secret, next door to Direct Wine Shipments. There were six of us at Saturday teatime, quite a fussy crowd. The ambience was warm and relaxing. Bar staff were doing a great job on the Mojitos and Margaritas. We went upstairs for our table and the dark and stylish decor continued. Food is based on small plates costing between £8-14. We ordered one each and six sides to share. Favourite of the night were the deep-fried red peppers with feta, served hot and fresh. We ordered a second one.. slow cooked lamb with houmous was well cooked but a bit bland. Duck in the form of a spring roll was on the small side. Seabass with pepperonata was a lot of peppers and a little fish. The cheese plate was delicious, with brie, blue cheese and what looked like manchego, with huge juicy red grapes, home made raisin relish and home made crackers. The Choc Ice dessert, which three of us ordered, was bad. It was a chocolate mousse encased in a heavy hazlenut overcoat which was way too much. So, a few quibbles but mostly good and a sure thing for a return visit. We spent about £40 per person which included a bottle of Holy Snail...

We called in to try the Small Plates selection, and were very impressed with the dishes on offer. The Asian Crispy Duck Salad was a definite winner, as were the Spiced Panisse Tacos, and we were delighted to find a great favourite of ours, Fried Green Olives, on the menu: absolutely perfect bar snacks! And the Charred Broccolini with miso mayo and a soft poached egg, and the Mac & Beer Cheese with whipped feta were terrific vegetarian options.
However, do make sure that you visit Gnostic in the winter months to take full advantage of the seasonal “Hot Tot” drinks menu; the Buttered Rum is like liquid butterscotch with a spicy kick and was...
