Our server was amazingly polite and helpful so thank you to megan for being so amazing. Unfortunately that was the only positive moment in our experience, we ordered a takeout and after paying we mentioned we would call back for the food shortly. We get home and The food we ordered as a takeout meal was disgustingly salty, inedible. Im well aware of how an arabiata is made and can be somewhat salty due to the olives etc but it was inedible my partner and i had a bite of it and had to spit it out. We ordered two of the same and didn’t even touch the second box. We called immediately to get told “the kitchen closes in 1 minute” so i would have to tell them if i am coming right that moment to collect a fresh meal … Being polite, i declined so they could finish as per their schedule and said i would call in the following day. My partner takes the food back only to be ridiculously accused of having tampered with the food, I'm not even the slightest bit sorry for putting this honest review on your page but how laughable is it were going to tamper with our food just to come and ask for a replacement of the meal provided or a credit note so we can come back in the evening. Now our meal was only £20 takeaway but the fact that she was accusatory is beyond comprehension. Im sorry your chefs don’t understand the concept of trying their own food prior to service. Food quality and service levels buckle under pressure. We'd come to like this place after eating here twice previously. Delicious, well presented and fresh salads. With good attentive service to go along with it. However the 3rd time we visited on a busy mid week evening the total opposite to our previous visits. The salads were thrown together carelessly with old wilting ingredients. The lettuce leaves were blackened and turgid, the peppers and tomatoes were saggy and wrinkly. Any chef with pride in their food would have taken the salads off the menu if the ingredients were past their best before date like these obvously were. We complained to the serving staff who were totally uninterested and summoned the restaurant manager who was even more incompetent in his role. We were immediately greeted with that "customers are always complaining without justiification" attitude that poor restaurant managers have when they get so worn down by a role they just don't have the aptitude for. After countless excuses he finally took the salads back and prepared us "fresh" ones that were equally out of date but this time missing key ingredients such as the avocado. At this point we gave up, no appetite to interact with the soulless, impatient staff or to ever eat here again. I attended this restaurant this evening (10th July) for an evening meal with my family. We were a large group with 8 adults and a baby (who required a high chair). On attending the restaurant to ask for a table for 8 with a high chair, one of the male waiters commenced to inform me that the high chair could not be placed at the table. I then asked whether we could sit inside the restaurant. The male waiter then noted that they only had 4 staff and this was not possible. I informed him that it was not my role as a client to provide solutions for their seating. The male waiter did not provide a response and thereafter, his colleagues commenced to organise the table for 8. This conduct made me and my family feel Very unwelcome. We sat down and thereafter left, as we felt unwelcome to eat at the restaurant. I have visited this restaurant in the past and the staff have been welcoming and polite. However, on this occasion, the staff were unwelcoming and offered poor customer service. We then proceeded to attend the Wagamama a few doors down, who welcomed my party very politely and we had some great food and wine. I would urge you not to attend if you have a large party - the restaurant appears as though they do not wish to accommodate parties of more than 4.
