40Cha Taiwanese Bubble Tea - Wakefield — Restaurant in Wakefield

Taste: The teas taste really good, and they have some interesting choices. I find not many places do mango milk tea, but I absolutely love theirs. However...The tapioca pearls are inconsistent. Sometimes: chewy and bouncy (QQ) which is good. Or too hard, far too chewy, or bland.

Service: The service is OK, every time I have been there has only been one person making the drinks, sometimes two on a good day. It takes a while to get served because they're so busy making drinks for online orders. They do have a self-service machine which I've not seen in other shops before, so this can be used when they are busy. The staff are polite, but you can tell they are overworked. It can take a while to get served if you're queuing to pay cash.

Atmosphere: It's on the top floor of a shopping centre, so there's not really much of an ambience as it's not a closed off space that you can sit in. They do have some displays of merchandise which are on sale though.

Overall: Whenever I'm visiting the shopping centre I stop by here, but always hope the pearls are good 🥲

Worse bubble tea I've had 😞 the gentleman serving was rude. I ordered 2 large bubble tea, no flavour and VERY watered down and hardly any bobbas. I ran out of bobbas before I finished the 'tea', something that's never happened in nearly 10 years of bubble tea drinking experience, with bubble tea purchase at other places. The large cups they used had clip on tops that didn't fit properly, so they used tape on the sides, they still leaked and spilled everywhere, my boots were covered from carrying them to my car, my hands were sticky and my car cup holders were flooded. I lost a good 1/5 of the drink from the leaky tops. Such a disappointing experience. Won't be...

We have been here 6 times now, 3 out of those times the didn't open even tho the details show opening times. One time we were served and everything was fine then the 2 other occasions the tapioca wasn't ready, we waited 15 mins the 1st time as the kids really wanted the drink but the 2nd time was told it would be 35mins, I work in food and when we open our doors on opening time we have our food ready to go, the 35min wait would have been 45 mins after they had been opened...
