Esquires Coffee Wakefield — Restaurant in Wakefield

So, it's an Esquires, serving the typical range of hot drinks and food but with a multitude of added extras, such as waffles; the menu almost qualifies as "eclectic." I guess I'm saying you're probably going to be satisfied, because you have plenty to choose from. However, while this and the service are excellent, the location is, at least for me, depressing. You're not really "in" Esquires, it's just in an open space in a shopping mall that was last renovated god knows when. If you're not on a table in the centre, there's always people walking past you and in and out of TK Maxx: you do not have the luxury of a piece of glass to separate you. I hope they are able to move. Always great tasting coffee, comfy cafe, can't say cosy as it's open plan in the shopping centre.

Unlike other recent reviews, I found the three staff today to be really friendly and chatty. Very helpful, took order and delivered to table. Had time to chat with customers. Joking and laughing with customers, very jolly!

The ladies who work here have got a real attitude problem I’ve afraid. They have a system where you give your order and they give you a number on a piece of wood to display at your table. Instead of then bringing your order to your table they shout out the number and if you don’t immediately spring to attention you get eye rolls and dirty looks. It’s your system, not mine, if you don’t like it do something else! Very poor...
