As soon as we arrived at the restaurant we received a warm and friendly greeting from the staff. When we were taken to our table José, the owner and chef, came to speak with us and checked on food allergies within our group, which was fantastic as I have them. He also advised us not to order as many dishes, as we might do in other tapas places, as his servings were bigger. He suggested that five dishes between two would be enough. He also said that his food was freshly cooked and that each dish would come to us as soon as it was ready, rather than all at once. Soon enough the first dishes arrived and they were very large and well presented. They were full of flavour and you could both see and taste that José has a passion for what he does. His wife worked front of house and she too was warm and welcoming. All of the staff gave us just the right amount of attention. After we had stuffed our faces with the main course we moved onto desserts and everyone said that they were fantastic. So would we visit again? Of course we would. If you want great Spanish tapas with big portions and cooked very well, together with a friendly atmosphere and attentive staff then you won't go far wrong at José's...go on...

What an absolutely perfect night. We got to the Restaurant which is quite a cozy affair and was immediately met by Sophia the very friendly wife of Jose. She was very attentive and made some excellent suggestions. We had the recommended Spanish White Wine and ordered six tapas. We were offered three pork belly tapas on the house, The patatas bravas were sublime, the fresh shrimp from the seafood bar were bathed in garlic and olive oil and melted on the tongue, the super fresh monk fish topped with prosciutto and a large Shrimp in its shell in the most amazing creamy sauce, Sally couldnt get enough of it!!!. It was that gooood.!! The fresh chorizo was heaven to Nicola, she gazed at it all night .... It was love and first bite!! ....and she was so sad when she had no more room for more! We also had the Manchego cheese and meat board and garlic chicken which was so soft and delicious. I felt we were in Spain, so friendly and a lovely, warm atmosphere. Jose was so friendly and very proud of his kitchen and all his staff. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes fresh, authentic rustic food. This will be my regular go to restaurant from now on, and im already planning to go again. ...

We booked a table for 7:30 and due to parking difficulty we arrived at 7:34. We apologised and were shown to our table. This was my only real concern that to get in we had to ask the people on either side of the table to pull in for us to be able to sit down. The food was ordered and we were told things were freshly cooked so we were prepared to wait. We ordered 7 dishes for 3 of us and we just about squeaked room for dessert. We had a garlic chicken, meatballs, cod and chorizo, patatas bravas, house rice. All arrived at different times, but we were fine with this as we ate everything hot and delicious. For dessert we ordered millionaires cheesecake, and almond tart, which was to die for. Light and fluffy, but packed with almonds. Stunning! For relaxed casual dining it was hard to beat. I have only removed a star for the lack of distance between tables which would have been tight pre pandemic. Waiting staff and owners all tried to make sure we had enjoyed everything. A very...

Great food and reasonable prices. The food was awesome. All the food was brought out good and hot and looked, smelled and tasted wonderful. The portion sizes were great and the lady who took our order helped make sure we didn't over order! I can highly recommend the croquettes, I enjoyed them so much I had the waitress make sure I had found the right recipe on the net before we left! The one single issue we had is that the meat was nearly all on the bone, was not expecting that at all! Not the end of the world but would be worth noting for the menu? We *WILL* be coming back here in the future!

Cannot recommend this place enough. Really friendly helpful staff. Authentic Spanish look to the restaurant. Food was AMAZING! Even my 11yr old son found plenty to eat, he loved the idea of lots of different portions of little dishes. Potato and leek soup for starter was really fresh and tasty. Staff were very helpful in regards to my wife's gluten-free allergy. My favourites were chicken and chorizo rice, kebab, chilli prawns, garlic mushrooms and to finish off, lemon cheesecake 😋 Lovely little restaurant hidden away down a side street in Wakefield. Definitely will go back.
