Chopstix - Cardiff St. David's — Restaurant in Great Britain

Be wary and calculate your order before you pay. Previous visits to this store have resulted in me overpaying for my food as items have been added onto my tray without my knowledge and then quickly charged for before I'd noticed. So I anticipated this today as I ordered. When I got to the till, I requested the £1.99 value meal, to which the lady serving informed me that this was for Children only and I'd have to spend more on the larger meal.

I questioned this as there was no signage stating that this was for Children, to which the lady said 'OK, I'll do it if you want it'. So she put this meal through and my order total came to 50p more than it should've been. When I questioned this, she said "oh, you didn't want sweet chilli?" at which point I noticed that this had been added to my tray, and my bill without my consent. We have visited this quick serve restaurant twice while shopping in Cardiff St David's Shopping Center. It's a great option for a relatively quick bite to eat during lunch on a shopping trip or before catching your train home. They have brilliant options to eat, especially as my other half is a vegetarian, so she had plenty of choice, as well as vegan friendly options.

Rice or noodles with options like chicken curry, lemon chicken, salt and pepper chicken (my favorite), sweet chili prawns, BBQ Chicken, Chicken Katsu Curry or Salt & Pepper Potatoes for the vegans who visit. I will be honest and say that they charged us a couple of quid more than we were expecting but I did get two bags of spring rolls (which were lovely). The drinks options were also great, and the atmosphere in there is brilliant. You can watch the shoppers walking past for hours, and the tables are always scattered with people enjoying their boxes too.

I am truly shocked by the positive reviews here on Google, but let me share my experience with this company. What has happened to this place? I went for the "LARGE BOX" (by the way, they are all the same size boxes).

With the large box, you get to choose noodles or rice and then 3 toppings of your choice. A couple of years ago, when you ordered a large box, you couldn’t even finish it because it was so big. Now, they give you three measly pieces of meat per topping—it’s like a starter portion for £13.27 (meal with drink and spring rolls). You’re paying MORE FOR LESS!

I do like the food, but they’ve become so greedy! I will never order Chopstix again. I remember when the large box was around £6, and it was actually large. You’d leave the restaurant feeling full.
