Always a favourite cafe as the food is always good. No specific gluten free specials (like gluten free fish) on the menu. So I had bacon, egg and chips. The lady did say that their chips are ok as fried separately on their own and they do use a gluten free gravy on dinners. Husband had haddock which he said was lovely with a light and crisp batter coating, not too heavy. We came back for tea and hubby had a lovely looking piece of coffee and walnut cake.

The photo of the decor tells you all you need to know. Pink walls, chintz light fittings, and those blue seats from about 1977 (honestly manager / owner, make a theme of the blue). Service was fine, staff friendly enough. Coffee was OK, but a ā€œlargeā€ coffee was anything but.. 330ml mug. I guess we are use to the larger chains in which a large coffee is a litre mug!

Called in for some lunch, and a coffee, while on a day trip, and was impressed by the food and drinks offered. The service was first class. As far as I could see, all the seating was either in booths or tables of four, and the long narrow nature of the building would probably not allow for much else... so I have only given 4 stars for atmosphere, which I think is fair, yet I feel guilty for not giving 5, given we hardly noticed! There were also tables outside on the pavement for when the weather was warmer. The decor was more than made up for by the food and good old fashioned service. I was particularly pleased that nobody interrupted us to ask if we were enjoying our food... I hope it was clearly obvious that we were! My son had a side of chips and curried sauce, which I tried, and they...

We enjoyed an evening meal here after being recommended the place by my parents. We were pleasantly surprised. The waitress (with curly hair ) was really lovely. She moved furniture to help get my sons wheelchair in , was friendly and kind. My little boy has Downs syndrome , can't talk but can be a bit noisy but we felt welcomed by the waitress. The food was lovely ! Lasagne was very tasty, lots of cheese. My partner enjoyed a chilli. The children's meals were good and large portions. The sundaes are huge def for sharing :) My daughter is pescatarian and found food to suit her. Toilets are upstairs . Would...

We went for a Sunday lunch and it was excellent. It was like going into an old fashioned family run establishment with lots of charm. The decor is nothing to write home about however I'd recommend going for the good and service.

I had an unlisted item from those given below as I had the slow cooked minted leg of lamb on mashed potatoes, with minted gravey and veg....the meat fell of the bone, it was wonderful, a little dearer than the other dishes, however we'll worth it.

Others in the party had the roast diner and fish and chips which were all lovely, portions good and quality of...
