I'm a big Costa fan, but this, sadly, is the worst Costa I've ever visited. It seems woefully understaffed, considering how busy it is. It often takes at least 10-15 minutes to get served. There's only ever one toilet working, usually the combined disabled toilet and baby changing room.
On a recent visit, I was horrified to see several small flies in the cake cabinet, crawling on the cakes. Some customers seemed oblivious to their presence, and staff continued to serve cakes to them. Many tables were left uncleared from previous customers.
The only positive was the lovely young barista who served me. She couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Management seriously needs to up its game here and employ more staff. The youngsters try hard, but there's just not...

I arrive in store and there is nobody at the counter, a woman comes out and starts stocking the fridge, no acknowledgement at all. I patiently wait by the counter but nobody comes to serve. Go back to table where my friend is waiting and a couple of staff members appear at the counter obviously serving the drive thru. So I go back, stand there and am totally ignored by both.
I don’t mind waiting, but being totally blanked by three members of staff when all they had to do was acknowledge me.

I ordered hot chocolate with marshmallows in oat milk for my granddaughter who is allergic to cow’s milk. Fortunately I was watching as she proceeded to make the drink with cow’s milk, so I was able to stop her. She then had to be reminded about the marshmallows, but only put one in the cup (other Costas have told me three is a portion).
