ASK Italian - Swansea — Restaurant in Wales

Went to the Swansea branch with my wife. We had reserved a table for 5:45 online beforehand.

My initial impressions upon entering were that it was very clean and brilliantly presented.

We were met by a warm friendly gentleman at the front desk who checked our booking and seated us.

A big point of contention for me when dining is where I’m seated. It can make or break it.

I think this is the first time I’ve ever been asked where I want to sit. He said we could sit by the window, in between a few other couples, or if we wanted a bit more space and privacy, there were other seats further into the restaurant. We chose the latter.

He offered us drinks, as well as a free shot each of pink lemonade! lol.

We ordered and the food came around 10 minutes later, which was very good at 6pm on a Saturday.

My wife had a spaghetti Bolognese, I had a pizza, and we shared chips.

The food was lovely, really really nice. I was offered chilli oil, which I had never had before and after pouring it on the pizza and trying it, it was lovely.

I had a biscoff cheesecake with ice cream for dessert and we paid the bill and left.

The whole experience was great from start to finish and I will definately visit again, as well as recommending it to friends and family.

I didn’t get the host/servers name unfortunately, but I think he may have been a manager as he wasn’t wearing the branded uniform, but rather his own striped dressed shirt. He had long dark hair and was really friendly and very attentive.

My friend has been to Ask before and suggested coming here because she loves it. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon around 2pm and we were seated straight away for a table for two. We were given taster samples of their homemade lemonades, traditional and raspberry flavoured. We loved both the samples so much we couldn't choose so we had both flavours each. My friend didn't want a starter but I couldn't resist the aranchini on the menu so I ordered them to come with my main. I ordered the beef brisket bolognase, chips and of course the aranchini. My friend ordered the pepperoni pizza and garlic pizza bread. We ate it in a tapas style and shared each other's sides. The food was delicious! Best Italian restaurant I've eaten at. Even the chips were stunning. After a short break from our mains, we ordered our desserts. My friend ordered the cheesecake and I ordered the nutella filled gnocchi. The gnocchi was also delectable. The staff were all so friendly, attentive and helpful. We spent a total of 3 hours here because it was a well overdue catch up and once we start gossiping our afternoons out last hours haha. The waiting staff were refreshingly relaxed and did not hassle us at all. They were always there if we needed another drink or to order our next course but were never pushy. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ask Italian in Swansea, and I must say it was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish.
