I have been to this cafe a few times and had a pleasant experience, the coffee is good and atmosphere is really nice. However during my most recent visit, I came in with my one year old cousin and obviously had a stroller. The step getting into the cafe was quite high but we managed to get the stroller in, however it was quite a struggle for me when leaving the cafe as it was step was quite steep from the inside so I had to carry my cousin in my arms and maneuver the stroller down. As soon as we left, a staff member went straight to clean our table and passed us struggling to leave the cafe but offered no assistance. I know the staff member are not obliged to help but the struggle of getting in and leaving just gives the impression that the cafe is not family/stroller friendly. During one of my earlier visits, I saw a staff member helping a mum carry her stroller in while she had her child in her arms so that was what assured me that if I were to come with a stroller, it wouldn’t be such a struggle. I can’t say I won’t come again because I had pleasant experiences before this recent visit, also I was served by different staff members. I hope management would do something to be more considerate to families bringing strollers, I did notice a ramp going in the cafe but a table is placed in front (I guess to make more space for indoor seating). Also, I came in the morning and the cafe was quite empty, of course I would understand if the cafe was full and the staff had to tend to...
Read moreI have come here twice and had pastries and coffee. The first time, I ordered a cappuccino and the second time I ordered a cortado. I came here because I saw the good reviews for coffee, so I was surprised when I was so disappointed in the cappuccino (a very basic beverage that I have had in Spain, Mexico, Germany, other parts of the UK, and back home in Seattle). I couldn't finish the cappuccino because it was mostly steamed milk and I couldn't taste the coffee at all. I was shocked that the cappuccino was served in such a large cup and then I noticed the same thing happen at another local coffee shop which clued me in to the fact that people just expect foam capped lattes here when they order cappuccinos. The pastries were so good, however, that I came back a second time believing that I would only order the pastries. I went out on a limb and asked the barista about the milk to coffee ratio in their beverages and ended up ordering a cortado instead of a cappuccino. The barista confirmed to me that there is just some odd expectation that cappuccinos should essentially be lattes and the fact that their intuition matched mine gave me a boost of confidence. The cortado was what I expected it to be and I could taste the coffee and enjoy...
Read moreDefinitely worth a visit for breakfast / brunch if nearby. You can only access and order from the menu via scanning a qr code which is at the door and also near to most tables in the restaurant. This looks to be a good way of ensuring people sign in for track and trace. We were quickly collected from the entrance and received good service to our table which we picked from those available, that were all spaced out reasonably. The drinks arrived promptly and I'd estimate we waited around 10 minutes for our food. There are quite a lot of things to order - at the time of writing there are 16 different breakfast / brunch options. Our hot chocolates had a variety of options for what milk was used and for toppings and syrups. The Chorizo Hash that I had tasted nice if not a bit light on the chorizo, and my partner enjoyed her Breakfast Brioche. We didn't wait long at all for our used plates and cutlery to be taken away. The music was perhaps a little louder than I'm used to but not so loud as to make it difficult to hear one...
